These stainless steel washers and stainless steel springs will keep your oarlocks from squeaking, reduce wear on the oarlock shaft and cushion vertical shock loads. Stainless steel springs are a close fit over the 5/8" oarlock shaft. The snug fit helps to keep waterproof lubricating grease (purchased separately at your local hardware store; we suggest white lithium grease.) from washing out and grit washing in.

Directions:

1. Slip one washer over the oarlock shaft, and then liberally apply waterproof grease to the shaft.


2. Slip the oarlock shaft into the oarlock stand and add the second washer.


3. Add the spring below the 2nd washer. The spring is held in place with the split ring.
