Kids PFD Reference Guide
|
Adult PFDs are sized by chest circumference but children’s PFDs are rated by weight ranges. Nevertheless, kids’ growing bodies have highly variable body dimensions for even the same weight classes. As a result, we’ve found from experience that other factors can influence how a jacket will fit a child. For example, the zipper length helps you see how it will fit a seated child.
We have seen cases where two kids with the same height, weight and chest measurements have one set of parents who accept a certain jacket while other parents will reject it. Use this table as a guideline and give us a call at 877.677.4327 if you have questions.
