AIRE Wildcat Cataraft Q: the frame sizing guide says for this boat . . . "custom." what does that mean for options? Asked on 12/14/2012 by Tom Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The best frame for the Wildcat is our Sport Cat Frame - http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product.asp?pfid=1275&pdeptid=1053 - What makes the frame custom is the stock length is 88" and the Wildcat has an 84" tube top flat area. It's no problem to shorten the frame. If you're interested, just give us a call. Answered on 12/14/2012 by Clyde from NRS
AIRE Wildcat Cataraft Q: The weight capacity is rated at 607 pounds. Is this figure over and above the weight of a frame? Also, does performance tend to fall off dramatically as one approaches the weight capacity or is is more gradual? Asked on 12/6/2012 by Tom Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: AIRE's weight ratings are merely an index for comparing one boat with another. They're taken for a certain immersion depth of the tubes, maybe 2"? So it's just the displacement volume flotation and not an accurate measurement for top load capacity. But of course, the more weight you put on, the deeper it'll sink and the more tube you're pushing through the water. Answered on 12/6/2012 by Clyde from NRS
