Other all-welded frame systems might be a little sexier, but nothing beats the combination of price, weight, and flexibility of the NRS system. I bought a couple extra cross bars that allows me to go from a multi-day setup with a cooler and two dry boxes to a daytrip setup with just a cooler in no time without even taking the frame off my raft. Could have saved a few bucks by buying the pipe and lopros separately, but then I'd need to setup a drill press and jig to drill the bolt holes properly. Well worth the extra $ to me to have them show up properly assembled. VS Most Liked Negative Review 48" crossbars. I just bought 4 48" cross-bars to make a custom frame for my mini-me. Of the four, two of them had lo-pros which were not mounted correctly, causing the frame to be seriously tweaked. If you buy cross-bars from NRS, try them one at a time on the side-rails and check to see how much the opposite end of the rail lifts off the ground when the u-bolts are tightened fully. On my 50" side bars, there was more than 2" of deflection for two of the cross bars. When the frame was assembled, it would not lie flat on the ground. Why would you ever want to buy a frame that is tweaked straight out of the factory? I am glad I do not have longer side rails--the longer the pipe, the bigger the problem. It seems that they need to put a little more care into mounting the lo-pros, as a slight measurment problem in the factory can lead to a really poor product. I would send them back, but I hate to waste the aluminum...They could never re-sell them. Reviewed by 14 customers Sort by Displaying reviews 1-5 Previous | Next » Pros
