No need to cut to size. These 82''ers fit perfectly on the flat part of tubes. Couldn't ask for better, plus end plugs are a great inclusion

I ordered these side rails to expand an older model NRS frame without going to the expense of buying an entirely new frame. I also bought a couple of cross member frame rails to add a dry box. Everything worked as I had hoped. Once again the value of the NRS frame system that allows quick disassembly became apparent.
My only cautionary note: I had an older NRS frame from the early 1990's. The "Lo-Pro fittings" from those days are larger than the current Lo-Pro fittings. So if you are trying to integrate new cross rails and new Lo-Pro fittings with older cross rails, seat mounts, etc., you will have to get the new cross rails cut about one-quarter inch longer than standard. NRS did this for me.

I bought these rails for building a custom sized rame for a new raft. They are made of great rust proof heavy aluminum to be strong and save weight. Along with the NRS LoPros your building options are endless. GREAT STUFF!

I’ve got an NRS sport cat frame on my Wildcat. It is 88 inches long. I would like to buy a second set of rails to run a lightweight version of the frame for surfing and such. I would like the lightweight setup to be able to run two people, so it needs to be long enough to accommodate a passenger. Though, given I have a larger setup, I am looking for the shortest possible setup. I realize that I will run this frame without the drop bars.

Dan, the length to accommodate two people will depend on a couple of things - length of the rower's legs and how the passenger will be seated. The Sport Cat Frame comes with two crossbars to make a cooler bay. If the passenger isn't sitting on a cooler, they'll need a seat, on either a seat bar or a passenger seat mount. And unless they're bracing their legs against the rower's seat bar, it'll be a pretty insecure seating. And are you sure you want to run without the drop rails? Hi, seeing some of the answers we're getting on this question, l'll add some more detail to my earlier answer. We don't bend this pipe; it is tempered for additional rigidity and will crack if there's much of a bend. The pipe we use for items with bends, like footbars, stern side rails, and the rails on our Skidguard Frame, has a different temper and is therefore bendable. We can certainly make side rails with the bendable pipe, and for most applications it would probably be fine. You just have to take its somewhat reduced rigidity into account in your design.Answered on 1/8/2013 by Clyde from NRSVERIFIED BUYER

Painting aluminum is tricky, and best left to a specialist. Try to find a
powder coating company near you and have them do the work. Typical rattle
cans will not adhere well and you'll be left with paint chips all over
everything.
I don't know if NRS will custom bend any parts, but I do know that AAA
Inflatables in Denver provides pre-bent and swaged elbows; that's what I
