Comments about NRS Stern Raft Frame:

This is a nice frame but did not work for me. But they are excellent to deal with they went up and beyond to make sure I was happy and needs meet.

      Q:

I'm looking for a stern oar frame for my highside minimax 10.5 boat. Could I cut and narrow this frame or is thereother options?

        A:

James, looks like the Mini-Max has a 42" center-to-center tube dimension. We'll need to narrow up the foot bar and possibly shorten the stern rails. Give us a call, 800.635.5202, and we'll get a custom frame going for you. Be sure to have the distance from the end of the side tube flat area to the center of the back tube panel when you call.

Yes, this frame can be easily modified with basic tools. The side bars can be moved in just using the standard socket wrench that goes with it, and the cross bars can be shortened with a hack saw that can cut aluminum. Of course moving the side bars will affect the balance point on the oars. The clamp adjustments are easy so you can experiment with the position of the side bars and make any cuts to the cross bars once you are satisfied with the modified arrangement.

I have used this stern frame for several years on my 10.5' highside. I use
2 straps by the seat to the back ring. To fasten the front of frame, I
glued two D rings to the top of the raft and pull straps (looped around
frame) to D rings. Make sure seat sits on top. Will have a picture later
        this summer.
