- We start by machining the shank to match the inside diameter of our aluminum pipe.
- The saddle, coupled with our stainless steel U-bolt, creates a connection that will hold firmly for a lifetime of boating.
- LoPro includes U-bolt and frame fit bolt assemblies.

For best results we recommend that you only attempt assembling your own frame parts from frame pipe and LoPros if you have good metal shop skills and equipment. If you have specific questions, please give us a call.

I built a new frame and these are the perfect connectors, they are easy to adjust and are strong in fast water.
Being low profile you can slide over them and not get caught up.

I tried some railing connectors. but it is not worth the hassle you might save a little. The quality and hold is hard to beat for the price.

No, they are not predrilled, or at least as of last year they were not. I've made a couple of custom made frames and the LoPros I'ved used the shaft needs to be drilled. No, you drill your own.
It's best to drill holes in the tubing first so that they are parallel, and then use those as pilot holes for the shafts.

No. If it did you could never line things up. You need to line it up exactly and drill through tube and fitting together. Dont try drilling them separately, the holes wont line up. The LoPro fitting I purchased did not have any holes in it. It was just a solid cast piece of metal. I used mine to make an umbrella stand and I drilled a hole through it.

The shank fits into the pipe. The saddle (and u-bolt) fit over the other pipe. They
can't both be 1.5".
These are designed to be used with 1 1/4" (nominal) schedule 40 aluminum pipe. It has
an inside diameter (ID) of 1.38". The OD is 1.66". I know it doesn't make much sense
that 1 1/4" pipe is roughly 1 1/2" in diameter, but that's how pipe works. If you have
aluminim that is exactly 1 1/2" around, it is probably tube, not pipe.Answered on 9/12/2012 by AnonymousA:
They are made only in the one size. Since your tubing is smaller than ours, you can consider shimming to make them fit around your pipe. We've seen a number of customers do this. However, turning down the shank will take a bit more work.Answered on 9/12/2012 by Clyde from NRS
