- We start by machining the shank to match the inside diameter of our aluminum pipe.
- The saddle, coupled with our stainless steel U-bolt, creates a connection that will hold firmly for a lifetime of boating.
- LoPro includes U-bolt and frame fit bolt assemblies.
- Dimensions:
Overall Length: 5 1/2"
Shank Length: 2"
Shank outer diameter: 1 3/8"
Saddle fits pipe with 1 5/8" outer diameter

- When custom fitting these to a new pipe, please use a 5/16" drill bit to drill the holes.
- NRS frame parts that include LoPro Fittings are manufactured here by our skilled Frameshop craftsmen, using specialized lathes, jigs, hydraulic benders and drill presses. For best results we recommend that you only attempt assembling your own frame parts from frame pipe and LoPros if you have good metal shop skills and equipment. NRS LoPro Frame Fittings Q: does this come with a drilled hole in the shaft? Asked on 2/14/2013 by dlz Know the answer? Answer this question 9 answers A: No, they are not predrilled, or at least as of last year they were not. I've made a couple of custom made frames and the LoPros I'ved used the shaft needs to be drilled. Here's a couple of pics of the frame, in addition to the Speed Rail connectors, hopefully you can see the LoPros and the bolts that I had to drill: Answered on 3/6/2013 by Anonymous A: No, Diz, it's best to drill through the pipe with the LoPro stub in place, so the holes line up. Answered on 2/14/2013 by Clyde from NRS A: No, you drill your own. It's best to drill holes in the tubing first so that they are parallel, and then use those as pilot holes for the shafts. harbor freight sells a drill center jig. Answered on 2/14/2013 by Anonymous A: NO. It would be too difficult to match up the pipe to the hole so they are drilled through at the same time. Answered on 2/14/2013 by Anonymous A: This does not come with a drilled hole in the shaft. With a strong drill and the right bit you can get it done . It is a little bit of a task though. Answered on 2/14/2013 by Captain Dickie from Snoqualmie WA A: No. If it did you could never line things up. You need to line it up exactly and drill through tube and fitting together. Dont try drilling them separately, the holes wont line up. The soft aluminum is fun to work with, but you will need a drill press. Answered on 2/14/2013 by Anonymous A: No, you need to drill the hole. I recommend to insert it to the tube and drill the hole on the tube and shaft at the same time this way the hole line up. Answered on 2/14/2013 by Anonymous A: No, it does not. A hand drill will obviously do the trick. Although, I'd recommend you find someone with a drill press.. Answered on 2/14/2013 by Anonymous A: The LoPro fitting I purchased did not have any holes in it. It was just a solid cast piece of metal. I used mine to make an umbrella stand and I drilled a hole through it. Hope this helps, Kevin Answered on 2/18/2013 by Anonymous
NRS LoPro Frame Fittings Q: Are they available in 1.5" dia saddle and shank instead of the 1.625" and 1.375" respectively? Asked on 9/11/2012 by Josh from Bozeman, MT Know the answer? Answer this question 4 answers A: I think they just come in one size Answered on 9/11/2012 by Captain Dickie from Snoqualmie WA A: To my knowledge the NRS LowPro fitting only comes in one size... Here are specs from the NRS web site. Dimensions: Over all Length: 5 1/2 inches Shank Length: 2 Shank outer diameter: 1 3/8 inch Saddle fits pipe with 1 5/8 inch outer diameter Saddle Height: 5/8 inch above bar Comes with: 1 - LoPro Fitting, 356 Aluminum Alloy 1 - U-Bolt 1 - Bolt, 5/16" x 2" 2 - 5/16" Washers 3 - Nuts Weight: 17 oz. with U-bolts, Nuts, & Washers 15.3 oz. LoPro only Answered on 9/12/2012 by Anonymous A: The shank fits into the pipe. The saddle (and u-bolt) fit over the other pipe. They can't both be 1.5". These are designed to be used with 1 1/4" (nominal) schedule 40 aluminum pipe. It has an inside diameter (ID) of 1.38". The OD is 1.66". I know it doesn't make much sense that 1 1/4" pipe is roughly 1 1/2" in diameter, but that's how pipe works. If you have aluminim that is exactly 1 1/2" around, it is probably tube, not pipe. Answered on 9/12/2012 by Anonymous A: They are made only in the one size. Since your tubing is smaller than ours, you can consider shimming to make them fit around your pipe. We've seen a number of customers do this. However, turning down the shank will take a bit more work. Answered on 9/12/2012 by Clyde from NRS
