These are great passenger seats. The strap that holds the backrest down for traveling is easily torn off during normal river use. These things always seem to snag on something and rip right off of the screw that holds them in place.

I saw the dimensions for the seat bolt pattern 5-1/2"X5-1/2", but what are the actual "seat" dimensions? I want to get an idea how much room I'll be left with on either side of it in my kayak.
