NRS Raft Stern Frame Anchor System
$214.95
Smooth and durable system to be used in conjunction with the NRS Stern Seat Mount. Taken from the drift boat industry, this system utilizes smooth pulleys and a large cam-cleat to secure the rope. Mounted slightly to the right and in front of the rower for easy accessibility and operation. Call for dimensions and feasibility for retro-fitting on non-NRS frames.
Anchor & Rope not included.
We recommend 3/8" polypropylene rope (item# 1830)

NRS Raft Stern Frame Anchor System Q: What is the length of the remote bracket? Asked on 2/9/2013 by Rafter Girl from Sandy, UT Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The longest dimension, from the corner of the flat back to the tip past the jamb cleat, is 9". Measured out at 90-degrees from the flat back of the bracket, the leading edge past the jamb cleat is out 7.5". Answered on 2/11/2013 by Clyde from NRS
NRS Raft Stern Frame Anchor System Q: Have you come up with a system for your anchor to be used on rafts that have the wood side rails installed? The rails are a must have but I have heard that the anchor system is built such that you cannot install it with rails. Please advise. Thank you. Jim Asked on 2/4/2013 by Highaltitude Okie from Hailey, Idaho Know the answer? Answer this question 3 answers A: Not sure what the wood side rails are? But you can get pretty creative with the NRS ancor system. You may just have to modify where you put the pullies and how you line it up with the gator jaw and the stern pully. I attached in 2 spots that were wood instead of attaching to the tube frame. Answered on 2/4/2013 by Anonymous A: Hi Jim, yes there is some interference with Side Rail Racks on that right side. Obviously you can't have a Rack resting on the footbar where the Remote Bracket w/ Jam Cleat is attached. On back right, the rope will slide along the top of a Rack. You can raise that rear Intermediate Pulley by putting some washers under it. The only ways to avoid the rope on top of the Rack are to just not use a rack there, or order custom rack supports that move the board further into the cockpit, so the rope can slide along the outside of it. Give us a call, 800.635.5202, if that works for you. Answered on 2/5/2013 by Clyde from NRS A: It might be possible to cut/notch out the wood side rails for the anchor components depending on how thick the wood side rails are, the first assembly and second pulley have a fairly low profile and sit on cross bars. NRS Raft Stern Frame Anchor System Q: I have one of your frames for fishing on my 14' aire. On that, i have your anchor system. When using the system, when you pull-up and lock/cleat the anchor, normal drifting causes the anchor to bounce and rub against the raft. I have spoke to many that have the same issue. This creates wear and issues. Any solutions? Asked on 12/17/2012 by David from United States Know the answer? Answer this question 6 answers A: I had the same issue on a NRS Otter. Got a 6" longer frame and that fixed it. Only had to swap out the side tubes that rest on the raft. Mike Answered on 12/17/2012 by Anonymous A: It sounds like the bar that the anchor mast is attached to isn't sitting far enough back on the rear tube panel to let the anchor extend out as far as it should. I'll drop you an email and we'll get started on figuring out how we can help. Answered on 12/17/2012 by Clyde from NRS A: Yes, I use a exercise kettle ball as an anchor which has a protective coating & I try to make sure the frame sits back on the raft to give the anchor clearance. Answered on 12/17/2012 by Gorge-y from PA & WV A: I don't think there is a lot you can do. You most likely have the large tube raft by aire. If you make the arm any longer the stress on the arm would be greater. Mine is on a NRS otter 16 which also has larger tubes, I just went to a lighter rubber coated anchor which works fine but it does still bang against the tube once in a while. Doesn't seem to be any excess wear. Answered on 12/18/2012 by Anonymous A: David, I had a similar problem with my 14' raft. What I ended up doing waspurchasing longer side rails from NRS. The standard frame has 68"bars. I had room on my raft to go to 82" bars which extended the back seat and anchor far enough back to keep it from rubbing the boat. Nota great solution but it worked well for me. Answered on 12/18/2012 by Jake from Idaho Falls, Idaho A: I changed the anchor to a Mushroom style anchor and have not had any wear issues. NRS Raft Stern Frame Anchor System Q: I am modifying a drift boat anchor system for my cat and have some parts. Curious if I can purchase the front pulley block without the cleat and a single side pulley both with hardware to mount them to my frame. Asked on 10/3/2012 by Sandy River Fisher from On a River between point A and Point B Know the answer? Answer this question 3 answers A: Give NRS a call at 800-635-5202, we manufacture the frames here in Moscow and should be able to get your the specific parts your looking for. Answered on 10/4/2012 by Pam from NRS A: I believe you can. But I don't think NRS sells those pulleys individually. But call a thier 800 # and ask a cust serv rep. It would be sim to the side pulley. But it might require a Dif minting bracket Sent from my iPhone Answered on 10/5/2012 by Anonymous A: I did put a modified ancor system on my raft, so I could control the ancor from my rowing seat. I do not have a NRS rowing frame so I got kind of creative with my existing rear pasenger seat. I just purchased your kit and used some of the parts and mounted them to my Northern lights frame, by drilling some holes in the frame and mounting the gator jaw at my feet on the hard plywood floor. Sounds like this guy might get by with your weekend warior ancor cleat, not sure. I could seend you some pictures if you think it would help Will Answered on 10/8/2012 by Anonymous
