Heavy-duty 5 Gallon Water Container Q: Is this sized to fit in the old military Jeep can holders? Asked on 5/5/2013 by Art from minneapolis, MN Know the answer? Answer this question 4 answers A: I don't know - it seems as though this design has been around a long time, but how old is "old" I know that many of the jeeps in southern utah have racks that fit these jugs perfectly. Best to go to an army surplus and check both racks and containers. Answered on 5/12/2013 by Heavy D from Victor, Idaho A: I can't swear by it but the sizing compared to my Jeep can seems right. Good Luck! Answered on 5/6/2013 by Anonymous A: Yes I believe it is. I have had no problems with it leaking or any other kind of problems. Recommend it for clean drinking water..... Answered on 5/6/2013 by Anonymous A: i dont know but it looks like it. sorry i cant be more specific. there are prob measurements on the page for the jug..and so forth Answered on 5/5/2013 by juan from paradise, ca
Heavy-duty 5 Gallon Water Container Q: Is it BPA and other dangerous chemical free? I don't want the chemicals to leach into the water. Asked on 4/15/2013 by J from Washington Know the answer? Answer this question 5 answers A: Hi, I can't say whether it is BPA free or not, but I do know that this water container is the same that the military has been using for decades. I trust it, and I know many other people who do too! :) Answered on 4/17/2013 by Anonymous A: I don't know how a product with your concerns could sold, used as it has been, in such abundance. Bpa has to be eaten to ingest it. Well researched outfitters use this container with no health concerns...as do I. Sent from my iPhone Answered on 4/16/2013 by Anonymous A: sorry i have no idea. they just forward me this stuff to answer....i would expect that the chemicals are not free, you are probably paying for them! There is no such thing as an aluminum jug that I know of. OK, so interested, i went and read the description that is listed on the NRS website for this jug.....: "Manufactured from food-grade materials, that are BPA free and will not add taste, odor, or any chemicals to the water." enjoy! they are good jugs Answered on 4/15/2013 by juan from paradise, ca A: Manufactured from food-grade materials, that are BPA free and will not add taste, odor, or any chemicals to the water. Answered on 4/15/2013 by Clyde from NRS A: Made of food grade plastic which is chemical & BPA free. A wonderful asset at the campsite or on the water. Remember proper cleaning without harsh chemicals or extremely high liquid temps... Answered on 4/15/2013 by Anonymous

But the quality seems to be the same! I am happy with it. Answered on 12/8/2012 by Anonymous A: i am almost positive it is. no visible difference. it is the super heavy one...the best i have seen for water jugs though it holds a bit less Answered on 12/8/2012 by juan from paradise, ca A: No, it is made by a different company. Answered on 12/10/2012 by Clyde from NRS A: No, It's made by a company called LC Industries. It is labeled property of US Government. I've got an identical one that I got a long time ago that has a different manufacturers name on it, but not Sceptre. Answered on 12/10/2012 by Anonymous
Heavy-duty 5 Gallon Water Container Q: Can you confirm that the depth of these containers is no more than 6-3/8" as listed in the specifications? I need four of them to replace some metal Jerry cans which have rusted and the four containers need to fit into a rack 26-3/8" wide. Asked on 8/24/2012 by 4WD van owner Know the answer? Answer this question 15 answers A: I just measured mine and it is 6 3/8" deep. kb Answered on 8/24/2012 by Anonymous A: I just went and measured definitely between 6 3/8 and 6 1/2 which should work in your rack....just make sure that they are the LCI jugs I can verify if they are specter jug they might be different. Both are mil spec. Check buylci.com for actual spec's;) Answered on 8/24/2012 by Anonymous A: These/water/gas/whatever you need are the best on the market Sent from my iPad Answered on 8/24/2012 by Papa snow from Cottonwood heights Utah A: I think it will compress to 6 3/8 but loaded or unloaded the middle bulges to 6 1/2. It's been on three weeks of river trips in Idaho this season and hasn't deformed at all. Pretty sure all four would fit in your rack. They are by far the most durable water containers on the market. Cheers Don Sharaf Answered on 8/24/2012 by Heavy D from Victor, Idaho A: I measure mine at a hair over 6-1/2", but there is some flexibility in them so they might be able to be squeezed into a slightly narrower space... Answered on 8/25/2012 by Anonymous A: Hello, My container measures 6 1/2", which would be 26" total for four of them. There is a slight bulge in the middle from usage, and container is empty. I might suggest filling the empty containers while in place in the rack to allow for any expansion if your rack is 26 3/8". I hope this is helpful! Cheers, Rob Harris Answered on 8/25/2012 by Anonymous A: They are 6 3/8 inch wide without water in them Sent from my iPhone Answered on 8/25/2012 by Anonymous A: I took my two containers and stacked them and measured. Since you will need them sit next to each other this might be a helpful test. 13 1/8 when measuring two. When I measured one it is close to the spec. The container isn't perfectly rectangular, it has rounded edges, I used my eye and not a level:) Good luck. I really like them, and would buy again, and recommend them. Answered on 8/25/2012 by Jim - Camper with the whole family from San Jose, CA A: sorry it took so long to get back. i was out of town working. I pulled one jug off my shelf and squeezed it between 2 sheets of plywood....without being super careful and definitely not compressing it, I get 6 5/8 on the bottom and 6 1/2 on top. Soooo, I would have to answer that no, 6 3/8 is not consistent and may never be the case. Answered on 8/25/2012 by juan from paradise, ca A: They are a little difficult to measure precisely as they seem to bow out slightly in the center and I need to eye-ball it. I get 6 1/2 to 6 5/8 trying to include the bow at the center, but the at the sides it is definitely 6 3/8 all around. Since they are plastic they give a little so I would guess 4 would fit in your rack, maybe snug, but that might be a good thing. Answered on 8/25/2012 by Anonymous A: Forgive me if this reply is too late, but I have two of those water jugs. With ‘sag’, mine measure 6 1/2” wide, however, they can be forced into a smaller opening. You should probably have 26” for four of them just so that you’re not fighting them when you pulling them out – especially if they’re full!. That being said, they’re the best water jugs I’ve ever owned. I hope this helps. Answered on 8/26/2012 by Anonymous A: Both of mine each measure 7-1/4" side to side at the widest area (region embossed with "WATER") after having used them full of water in the hot sun. Note: I laid the open container on its side and used a level to aid the measurement, both unloaded and loaded (200lbs). Although the containers are pretty stiff I was able to squeeze them narrower by 7/8" each to 6-3/8" side to side at the widest area (empty). So, after use they apparently expand a bit and indeed measure more than the spec but you should get a snug fit for your rack. These are easy to use, very rugged water containers! Answered on 8/26/2012 by Bronco Billy from San Jose, CA A: I measured them with water in and they are exactly 6 3/8 Answered on 8/27/2012 by Anonymous A: I measured 6 3/8" but if the containers slightly bulge you may not get 4 of them in there??? Good Luck Answered on 8/27/2012 by Anonymous A: I put a tape measure on mine today and find the containers to measure 6 3/8". My experience is that they do bulge slightly when full which expands that dimension slightly. Answered on 8/29/2012 by Anonymous
