Our Superston oarlocks will work on the rubber sleeve/stopper. However, just below the sleeve the shaft narrows and the shaft will slip through the horns of the oarlock. You can squeeze the horns of the oarlocks closer together to prevent this. You can do this in a vice by slipping a pipe over a horn and bending it inward.

Sawyer Standard Utility Oar
Q:
I have two pair of Sawyer oars that are wrapped beneath the collar. Two of the oars need new foam grips. Is it possible to replace just the foam grips? Thanks for your reply! :)
Yes. We do not stock the Sawyer replacement grips but we can custom order them for you. The individual grips are $3 each. Or, a pair that comes in packaging, instructions and rope guides (not sure what those are) is $8. They'll be simple to replace. Just cut off the old and use a bit of heat and some hair spray to install. Call us at 800.635.5202 to place the order.
