Convertible oar rights keep your oar blade in the right position for full-power strokes but also allow you to feather your oars.
  • The spline of the Oar Right fits between the horns of an open oarlock to "lock" your oar blade in position for the most effective stroke.

  • You can still feather the oar blade by simply tugging the oar in so the spline of the Oar Right clears the oarlock horns, or you can flip the spline up and out of the way for easy feathering. See "Larger Images & More Views" for examples.

  • For Carlisle and Cataract oars, use the Molded Oar Sleeve with the Oar Right for proper fit.

  • The Oar Right clamps securely to the Molded Oar Sleeve (sold separately) with two beefy stainless steel bolts.

  • Molded glass fill Nylon construction will give you years of troublefree service.

  • Adjusts from 2" to 2 1/4" for Carlisle & Cataraft Oars with Oar Sleeves.
  • Material: Molded Glass fill Nylon
  • Dimensions:  Adjusts from 2" to 2 1/4"
  • Use with Carlisle or Cataract oars with an oar sleeve
  • Fits Cataract factory rope wrap
  • Spline moves up to allow feathering
  • Stainless steel bolts

Great idea but watch out for the screw

      Comments about Convertible Oar Right:

I share gear with a couple other people and this works perfectly. The only problem is that the screw is meant to screw the setup to the oar shaft is extremely cheap. Of three oar locks put together by two different people all pre-drilled we had three screws whose heads came off. There was not much torque required for this and I have never seen any other screw do this. It left the headless screw stuck in the oar shaft with no way to get it out without drilling it out.
Good product just don't use their screw.

            Comments about Convertible Oar Right:

After years of not having oar rights I now prefer them most of the time. On those occasional super windy days the new convertible oar rights are a great solution to the only problem with the original.

Yes, The convertable oar rite will work on wrapped oars. I used a pair
on some rope wrapped Sawyers and it fit just fine.
                Hope this helps.

                Yes, this will work!
I requested Oar Rights on our rented rafts this summer for a Grand Canyon
trip. When we got to the put in, I saw that the rental company (PRO) had
simply attached the oar rights directly over the top of the rope wraps. I
was skeptical, as I've always used oar sleeves with oar rights. but they
worked great - no problems using them throughout the 16 day trip.

Yes. I have rope wrapped Cataract oars as well, and either type of Oar
Right will work over the rope without a sleeve.

Yes , I have 14 foot rope wraped carbon fiber oars on my 16 foot Stealthcraft, They are fantastic, they keep you in the power position at all times, measure the outside diameter of the rope to verify the diameter I think they offered a couple of sizes. Installing is a snap put them in the power position , tighten the screws, off you go.

I installed them on my cataract oars and they work great-good product as we have a driftboat used by people with a variety of skill levels-you can flip the oar rights out of the way if you need to feather or turn them down to keep the oars locked in regular rowing position-it took a few adjustments to get them set-they clamp down very securely on the wrapping
