I bought this to make a tow tether since it is the same one used in the NRS tether. I thought it would have a large enough gate to clip onto a paddle shaft, but it did not. So I ended up getting a different biner for my tether and kept this one for a pin kit.

Wide opening is a big plus for easy on and off. I keep one clipped to my bouyancy compensator when diving. With limited peripheral vision, it is easy to find and unclip without looking. Getting another divers attention can be done subtlety by clicking the gate on itself or, in case of emergency, by banging on the air tank.
