Loop straps simplify any tie-down that secures gear to an object such as a raft frame or car rack. Just loop the straps around the bars and secure the buckle over the top of the gear. Particularly handy for securing canoes and kayaks.

These straps are a two-piece system. Each piece has a loop at one end. Buckle piece is 1' long, and the tongue piece is the remaining footage.

All strap lengths are measured in feet, denoted by the ' symbol.
  • Webbing Tensile Strength: 1,500 pounds
  • Buckle Strength: 2,000 pounds
  • Loops on each end secure straps to almost anything.
  • Strap length woven into polypropylene webbing

I use these straps to tie my frame to my inflatable raft. They are also useful to tie-down small dry boxes and other gear. I also use them on my Infinicat (R) rafts for similar purposes. They are really neat to have on hand for many unexpected uses. I even carry some in my truck to use for those times when I pick up something that needs to be tied in safely. They are like clamps in a wood shop; you can't have too many!

This pair of straps is built backwards--the buckle should be on the long strap. This would allow you to put the webbing of the short piece through it, and pull down to tighten. As it is built, you have to reach high up and pull upward. With a canoe on a truck rack, this is difficult and I have to stand on my tire to get enough leverage to tighten. On a lower sedan, it wouldn't be much of a problem.

Awesome for strapping things down to the boat. The loop straps make for easily keeping a strap where you want it, even when you remove the item that you had strapped down...

Comments about NRS 1" Loop Strap:

I love these straps - versatile and easy, less crossing of straps. I used them to both tie down the boat to my trailer in transit, and to rig gear to the frame & D-rings on a multi-day. My only regret is that I didn't have more!

They come off fine, but the smaller diameter tube, the more difficult I would think it would become.

I have never had a problem with undoing the straps, even after long times of holding surfboards down tightly on my boat.

Yes, they come off easily. The buckles sit a bit too low for the boats I use, 14 & 16 foot Avon/Sotar/Hyside, so it is difficult to adjust them when used as a sling. I re-sewed the loop on the buckle side and added a carabiner loop while I was at it to hold water bottles, throw bags...

Most often, they come off problem. Pushing the strap toward the
loop will do the trick. If they are pulled /very/ tight when wet, then
dry out, the loop end might be harder to disengage. But splash on some
water and wait a couple minutes, and they'll ease up.

yes they come off fine.  they are just a line thru a loop, there is no knot to tighten them up and give you problems.  its a good system for the things they work for, like coolers etc that you want to keep in their bay.....and they dont disappear like a strap would since they are attached to the frame.
