Comments about Halkey-Roberts Metal Valve Wrench Tool:
I'm amazed that this wrench is made withoout any way to turn it. I drilled a 5/16" hole in the end of the wrench so that I could put a solid steel rod through it to get some serious leversge. Then it was fine, although I couldn't get the valve to unscrew no matter how much force I used. I was warned by the experts that getting an H-R valve out isn't easy. They were right.

Comments about Halkey-Roberts Metal Valve Wrench Tool:
I chose the metal valve tool when I purchased the valves for my inflatable dinghy and this well designed and made tool made the job very simple and quick. I highly recommend spending the extra money over the plastic unit.

Comments about Halkey-Roberts Metal Valve Wrench Tool:
teeth are too flexable, needs holes drilled in top of tool to allow screw driver to add leverage in twisting. But way stronger than standard tool.

Metal valve tool fits all halkey Roberts valves. Suggest the metal one as some of the valves can be a real bear. Good luck Sent from my Samsung smartphone on AT&T

The spanners are universal for the old and new H-K valve. I'd recommend getting the metal spanner (#14742) as some of the valves are in tight. You may need to drill a hole thru the handle of the spanner so you can insert a screwdriver for extra leverage. Difference between the old and new HK valves is related to the depth of the recess (old is 5/8", new is 7/8"), but this is unrelated to the spanner needed as the valve internal diameter is the same. The spanner will grip both the old rounded valve holes and the new square holes.

This is the only metal H-R valve wrench we carry. It fits their valves.
