I recommend you pull out the military valve boot and replace with a Leafield C-7 valve, using a doughnut patch. Outer diameter of the boot is 6". The inner space is 2 7/8". You could put a C7 valve in there, but normally its low profile works very well on the outside of a tube.Answered on 9/12/2012 by Clyde from NRS
