I had two others and sold them after I bought this. Very universal, I have 4 kayaks of different sizes and styles, but it works great with all. Keeps center of gravity low and make it easy to pull. Easy on, easy off. Its a tad on the higher price, but well worth it. You get what you pay for.

I'm an older boater who has a cranky back, consequently the C-Tug should make it a lot easier on me. Erecting it is simple, and tools are not necessary. It seems to be sturdy and durable. The negs. are: inflation stems are too short which makes it difficult to inflate the tires--I placed stem extenders on them. The strap tie down is pretty Mickey Mouse. I'm using a cam strap in lieu of the strap it came with. The devil is in the details, as in most cases. The product needs a little more work. I'm still on the fence as to whether I'd recommend this to a friend.

Pack gear in the cockpit at the house and walk down 900' driveway to the lake. Helps my wife launch her 55 lb. 17' kayak as well as getting the boat to the water's edge. Very clever and well thought out design and build ruggedly. She has the hard wheels, which are noisy. I have the inflatable ones and they don't hold air but are quiet... take your pick.

Comments about C-Tug Boat Cart - Closeout:

Cam Buckle on strap is hard to tighten adequately. I changed it out to a Fastex side release and it works great. I also converted the other ladder buckles to a simpler style (Fastex). End result is very nice.
I have used both the pneumatic and solid wheels. Pneumatic provides a softer ride if that is important. My preference over all is the hard wheels.

Love the compac stow design, but now I have 6 six wheel's that won't hold air. I have two of these, they sent me two new wheel's and they won't hold air, which renders them kind'a useless!!! Send me two sets of the solid wheel's so I might be able to go somewhere, otherwise , just a huge waste of money!

These wheels have short valve stems and appear designed to take up to 30 psi air but I'll be darn if I can get any seal between the wheel and the tire to hold air. No instruction about this... what gives.

I took my wheels to a convenience store that had a commercial air source.
Had no problem in getting the tire to seal to the rim. But tire guys
routinely have to tie a band of sort around the tire, pull it tight to
cause the tire bead to expand to meet the rim. I'd probably take my tires
to a local tire dealership to have them do this for me if I had a problem.
The trick is to have enough air volume to push the bead out to meet the
rim. The band just makes it easier.

I got valve extensions at the auto store. That helped immensely. Someone else had mentioned this and I took the advice. Other than this issue, I haven't had any problems with the cart.

Ken, the tires of the ones in stock aren't tubeless, they have an inner tube. If the tire isn't holding air, please return it for an exchange.

I suppose you could rig up some sort of platform to attach to it to support a raft, but with the narrow wheel base it would be real tippy. Practically, I'd say, no.

I haven't to date but I'd bet if they were placed in the same position relative to each other on each pontoon you would be able to pull it without a problem.

I guess they sent this to me because I own a C-tug.
It has been a sturdy product which has functioned well to roll my 12 foot green river kayak (plastic, what, 45lbs...) and gear to the beach or river.
The top flattens out, and is non-slip, which helps with flat or keel boats.
The tires were somewhat difficult to inflate-had to use a compressor, but roll really well. I understand they have a version with permanently inflated wheels.
Very satisfied with the product, but if you don't need the collapsible feature, something cheaper may serve and store well enough in the canoe.

Yes it would. Weight is important. The canoe would have to be empty and not
              huge.

I think it will work fine if moved forward enough where both pads will be in contact with hull. Use and NRS strap in place of the one supplied. Have a rope handle at the bow to pull along.

Sure will. Only thing that may be a hindrance is the length of the strap,
but that should not be a problem either. Maybe easier pushing as opposed to
pulling the canoe because of the taper of the canoe. It is a very good
product and I highly recommend it.

It may but the straps will more than likely be too short to go up and over the canoe.
C-Tug breaks down nicely though which I really like.
Wheels pick up sand & mud though so you may want a stow-away bag.
Worth a try that's for sure.
