- Two in-line swivels keep the leash from tangling up.

I use it for paddle boarding. I would go for a longer lead not this coil type. You could get hit!!!!!

Yes, you can, it is very strong. Since you say you're new at this, please be aware that you should only wear a leash that doesn't include a quick-release mechanism in open water surf with no obstacles that it could wrap around. Surf Safe!Answered on 5/27/2013 by Clyde from NRS
