NRS' adjustable thigh straps for inflatable kayaks give you the added control and security you need in whitewater.
  • A simple strap loop, that is plenty long enough to attach to the self bailers in case you don't have D-rings, along with bomb proof cam buckles make attaching thigh straps to your boat a piece of cake.

  • The one piece design ensures that pieces don't get lost and it's easy to use.

  • NRS heavy duty cam buckles, with their dual springs and 2000 lbs rating, give you easy reliable adjustability.

I had a set of these installed on my Aire Force Kayak and a set of the Aire Brand Thigh straps on my Aire Lynx 1 kayak. I found these to be far more functional than the aire brand as they are much, much easier to adjust on the fly. I was constantly struggling with the Aire brand so I replaced them with the NRS brand of thigh strap and would highly recommend these for all IK craft.

I have the origanl straps which NRS made with palstic buckles which I wanted to replace with the newer one that have metal. The bottom metal buckle protrudes beyond the paddling making it very uncomfortable. The padding needs to be lengthend to remedy this situation or add clear/blue buckle covers to soften thte rub. Maybe th enext generation will be better.

Worked well on last kayak but I need to adjust for my new aire strike so they don't slip off. Think I need to lengthen by selecting different loop or glue on a d-ring

These are very well made in comparison to others I have looked at. I appreciate the easily adjustable metal (not plastic) clamps. The shape and padding of the straps fit great and are very comfortable. I am very pleased with these and highly recommend them.

Can these straps be attached to the loops in an Aire Tributary Solo, or do you have to mount D rings?

I have a Tomcat & attach them to the loops. A friend of mine has a strike & does the same. Have been paddling with them for a couple of years and have had no problems.

They will mount directly to the straps in the floor of the Tomcat, or any other Aire IK for that matter. Thigh straps are helpful but good foot pegs (or a foam foot block) make them 100% more effective.

Yes, but I recommend using carabiners to save on the wear and tear of your loops/straps. Actually, I put carabiners on all my loops. Much easier to lace webbing, hook other carabiners, etc... And, you will prolong the life of your loops.

No need for D rings on my Tributary 2 person kayak. They attach to the existing loops.

Loops through the floor holes works fine. the total strap length is a little short, so you have to choose the right holes...but if you do, D-rings not required...

The thigh straps are connected to the floor seat loops on the Tributary inflatable kayaks.  Mounting D-rings onto the IK would be an option, but is not necessary with the existing floor loops.
The thigh straps give the boater a lot of stability & control in the IK, a must have for any IK!

If you have the Strike model the answer is yes, they will work without D rings. They will attach to the cargo tie down loops. I don't have a Tomcat single but my tandem and my LV both have cargo loops that thigh straps are attached to.
If you have cargo loops you are good to go.

Yes they can be attached to the loops in Aire kayaks. I have the same pair and have them used them for two seasons. They work well. I have used them in class I-III rivers and creeks.
