more support than the cheetah chair, but lower in the back. more of a lumbar support. I got it for my wife who has a bad back, and the cheetah chair wasn't doing it for her. this is better, but still not all day comfort for her. I like it better as well.
Its a bit of a pain to inflate by bending down to the boat and blowing up the thing by mouth, I would have happily paid the extra $8.75 for a summit 2 valve that the rest of the boat has. would be much easier to inflate and deflate. I might attach the seat wit some carabiners or clips so it is easier to remove the seat to inflate then re-attach
Also, since the cover is sewn, why not sew on a few of the accessories that the cheetah had? pockets and cup holders? I don't have a good place to hold a beer now! I put a mini patch kit in the zipper, but would rather have a pocket like the cheetah had. Maybe I just need to rig something up to the tomcat's cargo loops
All in all, glad I bought it. much less money than any other thwart seat option

It's more like a backrest than a footrest (although thats how i use it in my aire sawtooth; and seat) and yes it is 12" tall.

I have the older version of this seat (it is Blue), The dimensions are as follows 21"W (at top) x 9"H x 7"D it fits the Tomcat Tandem perfectly. I use this to stay above the water from the self bailing feature when I have 2 adults in the boat. I also like to sit higher than the cheetah chair allows when fishing.
