NRS Pike Fishing Inflatable Kayak Q: Can you stand up in it? Asked on 4/24/2013 by Fish from B.c. Know the answer? Answer this question 4 answers A: Yes. With the drip stitch floor standing is not a problem. Answered on 4/24/2013 by Anonymous A: Yes Answered on 4/24/2013 by Kbbobb from Juneau, Alaska A: Yes, the 39" width and rigid drop-stitch floor create a stable standing platform. Answered on 4/24/2013 by Clyde from NRS A: Absolutely. Very stable. Answered on 4/24/2013 by snidley26 from Charlotte, NC
NRS Pike Fishing Inflatable Kayak Q: Is it OK if I wanted to install foot braces? What would you recommend? Asked on 4/15/2013 by Billy Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Billy, foot braces do give you better control of your boat. We don't yet have specific foot brace kits for the Pike, but you can install the MaverIK Foot Braces, Item # 1653, using Stabond Adhesive, Item # 1903. Answered on 4/16/2013 by Clyde from NRS
NRS Pike Fishing Inflatable Kayak Q: I do multi-day trips in Alaska, on small to medium sized rivers. Would the Pike stand up to this type of usage? If my transportation is suspect, I'd be up a creek, so to speak. I HAVE to have durability on a trip like this, will this fit the bill? Asked on 3/19/2013 by pablo from N. Utah Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The Pike is a tough, well-made boat that should be fine for multiday trips. It has tiedown points that are excellent for attaching your gear. Answered on 3/20/2013 by Clyde from NRS
NRS Pike Fishing Inflatable Kayak Q: Guy at the Moscow shop said this was made out of the Hyphalon-type material and that PVC kayaks needed internal bladders. Specs say this is PVC. How do you keep the air in it if it is PVC? Rubber coated internals? Asked on 3/17/2013 by Wyatt from Clarkston, WA Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: The Pike is made with PVC-coated fabrics. PVC doesn't hold air as well as some other types of materials. We help mitigate that with internal seam taping and other design features. Answered on 3/18/2013 by Clyde from NRS A: No issues at all with inflation. Just fill it up and no worries ever. Nothing special needed. Answered on 3/17/2013 by snidley26 from Charlotte, NC
NRS Pike Fishing Inflatable Kayak Q: Can you take the boat on the plane as checked baggage? The weight and dimensions of the bag suggest it might be too big? Asked on 2/23/2013 by Richard Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Baggage regulations vary from carrier to carrier, please check with the airline you're planning on using. Answered on 2/23/2013 by Clyde from NRS
NRS Pike Fishing Inflatable Kayak Q: What are the approximate dimensions of the kayak rolled in storage bag? Asked on 1/31/2013 by Bill from Tacoma, WA Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: Just found this e-mail, and so haven't put a tape on the bag and boat, but I currently have my Pike, my foot pump, fifty feet of anchor line and 10 feet of chain, a Scotty Rod Holder, A Scotty Anchor Roller (& mounts for both) the Repair Kit, not accessory bags that came with the Boat, a Stormy Seas Vest, and a set of Simms waders in the main Compartment of the bag that comes with the Boat. The Skegs and plenty more fit in the outside pocket of the Bag, and the Seat and Paddle strap to the outside. Again, without putting a tape on it, The bag is probably not quite 4 feet tall, maybe 18-20 inches wide and maybe 15-18 inches deep. Fits easily into a trunk, or backseat, and the boat itself can be rolled to 2/3 the height if the bag, and anything else packed seperately. Hope this helps. Kevin Answered on 1/31/2013 by Anonymous A: Rolled and stowed in the storage bag, it's ~ 14" in diameter x 32" in length. And there's a bit of extra length in the bag at that roll. Answered on 2/1/2013 by Clyde from NRS
NRS Pike Fishing Inflatable Kayak Q: Could you use this craft for multiple day trips? Asked on 11/30/2012 by jeff from portland oregon Know the answer? Answer this question 3 answers A: There is plenty of room for a multi-day trip in the Pike IK. Answered on 12/1/2012 by snidley26 from Charlotte, NC A: Yes, especially if you are willing to pack like you are backpacking. It would be easy to pack for an extended weekend and support yourself in this kayak. If you have a support boat to carry heavy or bulky items longer trips would be possible. Answered on 12/1/2012 by Anonymous A: Yes, I have done an overnight bass fishing trip in this boat. Easily fitting overnight and fishing gear. Answered on 12/1/2012 by Anonymous
NRS Pike Fishing Inflatable Kayak Q: Can you attached two seats in the kayak? I see that you can fit 2 people, but is the passenger/front rider stuck without a seat? Asked on 11/9/2012 by JJ from San Francisco, CA Know the answer? Answer this question 3 answers A: Yes - very easy to add another seat but better fit for a child in the front. Answered on 11/9/2012 by snidley26 from Charlotte, NC A: There is room in the Pike for two people. The boat, as it comes, is configured for one person. The seat is anchored to D-rings. To reconfigure it for two people you would probably want to add new D-rings to make room to move the existing seat back and make a place for a front seat. Answered on 11/9/2012 by Clyde from NRS A: Yes you can add a seat and there is plenty of room. NRS can provide an identical extra seat. It is not listed on their site but customer service can assist. You may choose to add a couple of D rings to customize the seat position. Sent from my iPhone Answered on 11/9/2012 by Rodrigo52 from Mesa,AZ
NRS Pike Fishing Inflatable Kayak Q: What is the capacity of the NRS Pike? Asked on 8/28/2012 by Will from Jackson, Wy Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: With everything properly inflated at recommended pressure, I have no problem with two people plus gear for a total of 425 pounds. Keep in mind that the kayak is self bailing, so as you add more weight you will get a wet seat. I would guess you could load to 500 pound without issue as far as stability is concerned. It is also important to note that the tracking with the long skeg installed is fantastic. Sent from my iPhone Answered on 8/28/2012 by Anonymous A: I have had myself at 225 lbs with my girlfriend at 150 lbs in the boat comfortably on flat water with all my bass gear. Harder to maneuver like this but held 400 lbs easily, didn't really even sit low in the water. Hope this helps. Answered on 8/29/2012 by Anonymous
