NRS MaverIK II Inflatable Kayak Q: I live in the Ozarks of Missouri. I have been and Old Town and Blue Hole canoe guy for fifty years. My wife has had brain surgery and while she has had complete recovery her balance is not what it once was. I like the look of the Maverik II and think she would feel comfortable in it. My question is will it stand up to our limestone bottomed creeks and rivers? Asked on 3/2/2013 by new to ik's from Anderson,Mo Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: I own two Maverik II's, one of which we had for approximately 7 years. We have taken approximately 40 whitewater (Class II and Class III) river trips during that time. We have never had any problem with either inflatable on the rivers. They are VERY WELL constructed. We have also taken the boats out on lakes and the ocean numerous times. They do not perform as well there because they do not cut through the water due to wind/water resistance - so the distance covered is not great - we however enjoy them there also because of their comfort. Answered on 3/2/2013 by Anonymous A: The MaverIK II is made with our Pennel Orca material, which has a Hypalon coating. Hypalon is quite abrasion resistant. The MaverIk is a popular outfitter boat. I believe you will find it tough as heck. Answered on 3/3/2013 by Clyde from NRS
NRS MaverIK II Inflatable Kayak Q: Is the maveric series made of hypalon fabric? Reason I ask is because of hypalons UV resistance in the tropical sun. I see you sell hypalon glues, if it is that material, it should be specified. Thanks. Asked on 11/17/2012 by max from tropics Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer NRS MaverIK II Inflatable Kayak Q: I dont see a weight capacity for the maverik II. I am trying to decide between this an the aire super lynx. Asked on 8/29/2012 by hatu Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: I currently own two NRS MaverIK II Inflatable Kayak's ( one for over 5 years) and have taken them on over thirty Class 3 River trips with numerous people of different sizes. For best rides, I would recommend that neither individual rider weigh over 200 lbs. The Kayak can handle more weight safely with corresponding sacrifice to quality of ride.
