I dislike that the float is not included. That being said, this is a good pump. I have a friend who uses theirs quite a lot, and theirs are durable, and pump out a good volume. Though I have not used mine very much to date, I expect to be pleased based on using these pumps in the past.

fully functional, great for price. I would prefer one with a handle that does not break off during use though. this will work until a more robust and lightweight option comes along.

This bilge pump operates more smoothly than lower volume pumps. I needed to add a few drops of vegetable oil to the pump when I first got it.
Its volume when pumping is higher than cheaper, smaller pumps. Love it.

Good little pump. Had to buy a hose because I use it on my bucket boat. Its had to get the water out without hose.

What makes this pump twice as expensive as the NRS bilge pump? By the time you add the float, it is $40, vs $20 for the NRS pump. They both pump 8 gpm. This one is 3" taller. Any other attributes/functionality that justify spending twice as much?Asked on 3/5/2013 by Ray3 answers

Sorry,I can;t remember exactly. It went with Kayak a few years back. I had 2 pumps. I do recall this was the nicer one I kept stored on kayak. It was smaller in diameter so it stored eaiser

The Beckson bilge pump is a little more robust than the NRS. They sell them for sailers and other boaters as a backup contingency item. For pumping out the cockpit of your average sea kayak the NRS pump will more than suit your needs. I had one for years and it served me flawlessly. Thanks, Bill
