For a cheap and handy upgrade add another D-ring to the bow of your raft and clip the NRS bowline to it. This keeps it up out of the water and makes it faster to deploy when it is needed. Just be sure to run the line thru a carabiner attached to the new D-ring and then store the line back into the bag. This way when someone pulls the line out of the bag and ties onto the shore it doesn't rip the bag.

Bowline bag looks like a rescue bag to beginners. The bag needs to be bigger. Does its job however.

I like how the bag is big enough to easily stuff the rope back into it. The mouth is wide, allowing you to stuff the rope back in quickly (I thought it would take as long as a throw bag). We attach one end of the rope to the D-ring and bring the bag to the shore. Attach a locking biner to the same D-ring as the rope. wrap a prusik knot around the rope and put the other end in the biner. If the river level comes up you can easily take in some slack through the prusik and not have to mess with the knot on the shore end of the rope.
