A good canvas kayak material has very little stretch. Depending on the thread most of the stretch will be in the width as the length is pretensioned in the material. Good material for kayak is canvas duck and will only strech about 2%. The term streching the canvas refers to pulling it very tight rather than increasing its dimension.Answered on 12/4/2012 by AnonymousA:
