              Comments about Raft Sealant Kit:

I added it to my rib boat. The boat has no lleaks so it must have worked. The description says for its enough for main tubes of a 12' boat. I think I should have used about 1 and a half x the amount they say it covers. So if in doubt buy more for better coverage.

              Comments about Raft Sealant Kit:

I used this to seal my 11ft hypalon raft that had a few hundred pin holes and would not stay stiff for more than about 10 minutes. Worked amazingly well and was easier than expected to apply. My raft doesn't leak at all anymore! I saved a little bit to do the thwarts too. Make sure you use an organic vapor respirator, this stuff is really strong smelling, but that means it works well.

                  Q:

What constitutes a pinhole leak? I ask because I'm working on a raft that had major issues on a seam. I've mostly resolved them, but there's one spot where I guess I didn't quite get the patch completely flat (really tough spot to work on and not on the seam itself) and when I soap it there's a bubble about a third the size of my pinky nail; small but noticeable. In my mind that would be considered a pinhole leak, but I'd like other opinions.

It sounds like that leak would qualify as a "pinhole" and the Flexseal should seal it.

That would qualify in my mind if it popped and further bubbles continued to
develop or other bubbles developed alongside it.

Yes that would be a pinhole leak. Also can be thought of as a real slow leak.. My raft suffered from many pinhole leaks and needed to be inflated every few hours. After using flex seal it now still has a leak it two, but holds air for days and just needs a bit if a top off of air which I quite normal. Hope this helps

I didn¹t use it on my floor as it has a bladder and pressure release valves..
So you are right, no, I don¹t think it will work on the floor either if it
                    is set up this way.

Yes, it would seal pinholes in a floor, but because of the I-beams in most inflatable floors it would be difficult, if not impossible, to get it distributed properly.

I acually never tried it on the high pressure floor. Likely more
complicated bc of drop-stitching or I-beams

It worked great for my old Avon. Make sure you have any holes patched on the exterior first. Then make sure to move the boat up down and all around to insure a good coating. Made my tubes like new again. Boat would hold air for weeks

Yes it will work fine.  You need to follow the directions carefully and make sure you get good distribution of  the sealant throughout the tubes.

Yep. If you can get your valves off and pour in the sealant, you should be satisfied with this product. I t has worked for me.

I used this sealent three years ago on a maravia 13' SB.  In the end it helped.  It wont make your boat new again, but it will give some extra life. You need to go in with a plan.  Do 1 tube section at a time and taget the problem areas.  Also, you will need to do something with the valves..  Remove them and find something other than the valves to block the place where the valves were.  The latex will gum up valves. The sealent leaves a latex film inside the boat and pieces of latex pill off the inside tube.. This too can cause future valve issues. But you just need to make sure that the valve is free of latex pieces.  I can send some pics of what will happen inside the tube if you want me too.  Just go in with a plan and "take your time."  It mostlikely wont help with a SB floor.  Tubes only! Poured into tubes of raft, moved raft around to spread and let it dry. That was 2 years ago and has been fine since.

Yes I did use it. I have an older commercial raft that had a bunch of pun hole leaks. It stopped them all very well. I probably should have bought an extra can to make sure I had enough to really coat the inside of the tubes. Kind of expensive for each can, but it is a process to pull all the valves, pour in the sealant, kneed it around and re-inflate. So make sure you have enough for the entire raft. Bottom line it worked great. I believe it has lasted three years now and it still holding up. I would/will buy it again. Hope this helps,

This product is not a seam sealer, it is a sealant that coats the inside of your tube to seal tiny holes. If you have seam problems you should place a patch over the seam. I have had this in one of my boats for about 5 years and i haven't had any problems.
