I used the Multi-Mat as ground cover under my tent. Set up the mat under the tent entrance and vestibule. No sand at all tracked into the tent. Even with shoes on. Despite massive rain storm equipment and clothes in vestibule were able to dry and didn't absorb any ground water. Bottom of the tent was also dry after taking it down.

We purchased this item as a floor for our outdoor screen house. We used it on our camping trip to the desert. We had our dog along, and he stayed comfy and clean. The sand-free mat worked as advertised.

Bought the smaller size a year ago and wife likes it so much she bought the larger 10x10 as a Christmas gift for our son so he doesn't have to borrow ours and we can have 2 on larger dual family river trips = one for the kitchen area and one for the sleeping area porch to reduce sand tracking into tents.

My wife and I both love to just sleep on cots while on the river. This is a great mat to spread your gear out on. Everything just feels cleaner including your feet before sliding into your sleeping bag.
