Comments about NRS Neo Touring Sprayskirt:

This is a nice skirt for rec use. The seal around the combing is decent enough to stay on when rolling a lot, but comes off very easly for a novice. It has popped off while in the surf flooding my boat, forcing a swim, and leeks when I edge my boat over.

I have found that over time the waterproofing has deteriated, but it does breath well and will keep you dry from splashes, and the ocational roll.

The tunnel does run on the larger size, and I wear it high to keep water pooling to a minimum.

To sum it up, this is great for a novice who is hesitant about wet exiting but wants to keep a little dryer and not good for the more advanced paddler who plans on needing a proformance skirt.

Comments about NRS Neo Touring Sprayskirt:

The product fit my Hurricane Tracer 165. It was rather easy to attach to the cockpit, yet firmly in place, once attached. Although water pooled in the sprayskirt, the cockpit remained dry, so it wasn't a concern to me. I wasn't hot with the spray skirt attached, even though I paddled in 80+ degree weather.

This skirt is very easy to put on and does a great job keeping water out. I have very little pooling of water so it's not that big of a deal for me.

Comments about NRS Neo Touring Sprayskirt:

I used this skirt during a 4 hour kayak demo as a safety kayaker and during a 3 hour kayaking course I taught.

I am a size 33 waist and purchased the s/m tunnel, which was a smart move given that the 1 mil teraprene has more stretch and I wanted a snug fit around my torso. I used this skirt on a Hurricane Tracer 16, a Jackson Journey, a P&H Delphin & a Necky Looksha IV and the skirt fitted all the cockpits and kept the cockpit dry during edging where the skirt was under water.
I also put the skirt onto a Current Design Sirocco, a Current Design Slipstream & a Valley Avocet RM to test the fit. It fit all three well (tested them by trying to pull the skirt off by tugging on the tunnel). The Sirocco had the lease deck sag of all, which has the largest cockpit of all the kayaks.

I paddle in the Southeast and wanted a waterproof skirt that did not bake me inside the kayak and kept me dry when I rolled/edged.

The one thing I would change with the design is to offer at least two deck sizes (a smaller one). With the exception of the Sirocco, the deck had noticeable sag on all the kayaks; it essentially fit like a nylon skirt. My primary kayak is the Necky Looksha, which has a 19 in x 31 in cockpit & ~91 in. circumference, had noticeable deck sag.

Overall, if you are looking for a cooler option in a neoprene skirt that is not 3 mil or greater, this 1 mil skirt is a good purchase.

          Service and delivery comments:

I received the skirt as scheduled in great condition.

This skirt was not what I was looking for. It is thinner than most and would be good for somone needing more mobility in their kayak.

              Q:

I have the Hydra Sea Runner. My cockpit is 36" x 18". It looks like I need a size Large deck 35" x 17" are your specs. I want to know if this correct, what colors are the skirt. Also I wear 34" pants but have a bulky life jacket. I wonder if I will fit in the tunnel. Perhaps I should buy the Universal model?

I guide for a local outfitter and use my Neo Touring spray skirt all season
long. I'll be going into my 3rd season with it, some 200 trips.
I too am a 34 waist and it fits fine; maybe has stretched a bit but still
                fine.
I don't remember cockpit sizing other than the sizing chart was accurate.
I recommend this product. In fact, when this one wears out I will highly
                likely buy another one.

Rick, I believe this skirt will fit on your cockpit. As to the waist, your life jacket should go on the outside of the skirt tunnel, so that's not a problem.

I did buy this skirt. It does have some stretch around the edge where it fits over the combing so I think a 35 X 17 will fit. The skirt goes under your PFD (life jacket) so the PFD has nothing to do with sizing.. I white water and sea kayak and have several skirts. I like this one for sea kayaking. I don't have to fight putting it on. If I were to buy another I'd probably buy the same one. I don't think there is a choice of colors. Most skirts are black, dark green, or dark blue/grey...

Skirt will fit the cockpit fine, there's plenty of stretch to that model.
Your life jacket goes over the skirt, not under it. The large tunnel will
fit ok at first but will stretch out with time and be loose. Doesn't matter
much unless you are actually rolling on a regular basis...which you are not
or you would have known your jacket fits over. A relaxed fit is more
                comfortable.
