I got this for a climbing helmet. I use the helmet when hiking through dense western riparian habitat and climbing through tall brush on hills and mountains. The visor, of course, provides sun shade, but it also helps keeps sticks, trigs, and other things away from your face and out of your eyes. It attaches with Velcro, so I can remove it anytime that I want. This is a simple solution to putting a brim on a helmet for any use, and I think it is the best solution out there. I haven't seen any practical alternatives.

I used the sticky back hook and loop tape provided to attach the visor to my helmet and everything seemed OK until I went to get the helmet a week later and the visor had fallen off. Before application I had thoroughly cleaned the helmet so that was not the issue here. The sticky tape had simply peeled off of the helmet under its own weight. I replaced it making sure to get really good pressure and contact between the tape and helmet but a week later it had peeled off again.

I bought two of them and had the same problem with the other one.

When it is on the helmet it works great but it just wont stay on. I haven't figured out a nondestructive way to make it stay. I considered rivets but I generally resist drilling holes in helmets.

    It needs some help.

      Comments about NRS Helmet Visor:

Easily removable, and flexible. Does a great job. Best part is that if the visor contacts something, it will flex out of the way and not contribute to torquing your neck and possibly breaking it.

This would be a great item except that it will not stay on the helmet. The adhesive is worse than useless. I have an older one on my other helmet that is great. This one is trash. Avoid.

              Comments about NRS Helmet Visor:

I attached the visor to a full face bicycle helmet to upgrade the shade provided by the standard visor. The velcro attachment can be located to give the amount of shading you want; the bill is stiff enough to be unaffected by wind.

                  Comments about NRS Helmet Visor:

These Visors are GREAT... They fit the new helmets well and are the perfect size. We also really like the different colour options so we could match our other gear somewhat. My only concern is if the adhesive on the velcro you stick to the helmut will hold up and not come off... so far so good.

                  Service and delivery comments:

NRS shipped everything very quickly and it all arrived safe and sound in time for our next adventure... Thanks NRS.

The adhesive for the velcro pad fails within 24 hours. You'll need something to fix this before it's usable.

That visor could be used on a helmet with a small built-in visor but I don't
know at what angle it would be. The Velcro which holds it can be placed at
any position on the helmet (on a "great curve" flat arc) and assuming the
helmet only curves the last inch or so near the brim, the angle of the visor
                      would probably be acceptable

i think so. the velcro strip would go above the lip, so the whole visor would be
a little higher on the helmet, but i think that would be fine.

I suppose it's how sever the upward cure is but I'm thinking it would be worth a try. I ride 30 miles twice a week in Tampa Florida and it works very nicely..... Ride like the wind!!!!

Yes, these visors will work with a helmet with a flare or brow. The mounting edge of the visor will form to the helmet without any problems. Place the visor on the helmet while leaving the backing on the adhesive strip to get the best placement for the visor. When the visor is in the best location, make a few reference marks, remove the backing from the adhesive strip and place the visor on the helmet. I like these visors because I can flip it up and out of my field of vision if I want to.

Sure no problem, I got them on my helemts and they really provide good glare coverage. The visor attached easily the the helmet with a stick back piece of velcro and the visor with velcro attched to the mount so the visor can be removed at any time and re-attached when needed.

Yes, you simply apply the adhesive Velcro above flare. I have a Shred Ready
helmet that has a flared front and it works fine.

                      Hi
I purchased one last year. It works ok on my petzl helmet (it doesn't flare on the front, however). I guess it will work but might have to move up a little bit to stay away from the edge. My problem is that the tape fell off after one year of use. hope this helps. good luck!
