Comments about WRSI Trident Composite Helmet:

Tried another brand of helmet first, but found it's rounder style uncomfortable for my oval shaped head. Took a little time to adjust the fit pads, but that flexibilty is what allows you to dial in a precise fit. Having two sizes available = more happy paddlers! So many helmets were just too big even with the thicker padding. A little on the pricey side, but I'm very happy with this helmet - love the sharp graphics, too!

Comments about WRSI Trident Composite Helmet:

This replaced a whitewater kayaking helmet from another major brand and the fit is SO much better for my head. It took some effort to set it up just right but the padding and strapping is very versatile. There are no moving parts for my hair (female with long hair) to get wound up in. I get loads of compliments on how it looks and the visor offers some nice sun protection. Couldn't ask for a better helmet and I hope I never have to put it to an impact test.

Comments about WRSI Trident Composite Helmet:

Purchased mainly for its good looks (black with a flame design) and extended visor to protect my kayaker face from rock encounters. Difficult to fit, but worth the time spent fiddling with the straps. Helmet is very comfortable and protects extremely well. Highly recommend.

                Service and delivery comments:

This helmet was ordered in March and wasn't delivered until May. At first it fit badly and was hard to adjust and we thought "what a long wait just to be disappointed." (we finally achieved a great fit). NRS personnel were friendly and concerned, but couldn't do anything to speed up the manufacturer.

Looking for a helmet to use for multiple sports (predominantly whitewater and backcountry skiing). Will the shape of this helmet permit ski goggles to be worn with it ?

We would not recommend that. Helmets for different sports are tested differently. Check out this article on the subject - http://www.nrsweb.com/boating_tips/boatingHelmets.asp

I would not use it for skiing. No clip for goggles and no ventilation
slots or insulation that you would find on a snow sport helmet.

I found this helmet to have a close profile to my head which should only help if you were to wear goggles with it. I can't think of a way in which it would interfere as unless the front strap of the harness that surrounds your ear (picture your ear in a downward pointing triangle) is in the way. The built in visor is great for those sunny days. Besides, NRS offers hassle free returns so you don't pay return shipping if it doesn't work out. Hope this helps, and that you like the helmet as much as I do!

Yes, but.The brim is fairly pronounced and relatively low, large goggles will be forced down your nose. The brim also is in the way of raising the goggles up off the face. There is nothing mounted on the back of the helmet to keep the goggle strap. Given the shape and slippery texture of the helmet, each time the goggles are lifted around the brim, the strap will definitely come off unless something is added to keep them.Have paddled whitewater for 15 years and this is the best fitting helmet I've had. I only wish it had a few drainage holes in the top somewhere - massively scoops water in a roll which all, of course, must drain out down the face and neck.

I would say no. The occipital unit really does keep the helmet stable - no back to front movement. But, it has inserts under the liner into slots on the back side of the interior helmet rigging. I don't see how it could be turned around. Shred Ready goes backwards really easily, but, is not as stable front to back as the WSRI, at least not on my noggin'.

No you can't because of the strap and suspension system.

The simple answer is no. Because of the way the straps are made, it has
one that fits to back of your head to keep it from rocking back and
                    exposing the forehead.

                    Suckafish,
No, it can't. The configuration of the helmet and the straps would
prevent you from doing so. My question is; Why the heck you
would want to wear it backwards?

Not really, you would have to turn the entire harness around which would be very difficult.

No. The O-Brace on the backside will prevent you from wearing it backwards.
