Comments about NRS River Bed Sleeping Pad:

Have two of these - use them to sleep on a small catamaran. SOrt of cool that you can inflate them until they are a round tube for emergency flotation. You could use two of these to make a raft in an emergency of float your boat. These are rugged. Water use makes weight less important. Heavy duty cover is great. They are super comfy.

I have always figured I should get one of these pads. It's super nice. I think I'll sit on it instead of trying to pack it down. It is the most comfortable pad I have ever had.

Comments about NRS River Bed Sleeping Pad:

The River Bed was extremely comfortable, but I was not able to deal with its overall size, weight and bulk. I did get the LARGE, so keep that in mind. Great product, very well made, valve was bomb proof but just bigger than I was looking for.

      Q:

Can you add air to the self inflation with your mouth or do you need a rafting pump?

        A:

You can add air by mouth. Just open the valve, huff & puff, then pop it closed.

        A:

I just let My bed pull in the air it needs. I would use a pump
if it needed to be firmer but personally I would avoid blowing into it
because of the water vapor in breath will contaminate the foam and
lead to condensation and mold etc... Plus, cold weather insulation
value will suffer. Tie it on to the boat to sit on so that You don't
loose it and open the valve at camp for a while, watch out for sand or
dirt, let it do the breathing! Close the silly valve before Ya hit
        the sack!

Yes, a small plastic tube was provided that allows to breathe air into the bed. Although provided I have not needed to add more air. Open the valve and let it sit for 10-15 min. and the bed will self inflate and just close the valve. Hope that helps, enjoy !!

Yes, you can add air to this sleeping pad using a piece of tubing N.R.S. provides. I have owned this pad for a year and have been very satisfied, though slightly narrower than the jacks plastic, it is more affordable and seems of equal quality.
