Ethafoam Blocks$14.95 - $24.95
This stuff has more uses than Duct Tape. We recommend it for economical padding on coolers and dry boxes. Ethafoam is a closed cell foam. The density of this material is 2.2 pounds per cubic foot. One 2" block weighs just 2 lbs. H2 Glue works well if you want to adhere your ethafoam.
Dimensions: 1" = 1" high X 12" wide X 54" long 2" = 2" high X 12" wide X 54" long We fold the foam for shipping. Please specify in the Shipping Comments section during checkout if you would like the foam shipped flat.

Comments about Ethafoam Blocks: I love the lightweight-ness of the product. For making a cookie pillow, you would have to somehow join widths together to get it wide enough. I'm sure it's doable, I just haven't had time to figure out how to join and then trim while keeping the integrity of the join. Word of warning, though. Recommend white for bobbin lace purposes as the material will sometimes pull out with the pin and black will show up in your work.

Comments about Ethafoam Blocks: These blocks of foam are used in a local high school in a composite boat building program as seats and back rests. They work very well and are cost effective.

Best Uses Comments about Ethafoam Blocks: A thousand years ago, I used ethafoam in white water K-1 and C-1 building & boating. Recently I needed something stiff and lightweight and simple to shape to support heavy recorders I use to play early music. Finally I thought of ethafoam and scoured Whatcom county for a supply - even REI. NONE. Then I remembered NRS, and voila, here it is (again). It works great, again. A simple covering takes care of the only drawback.

Comments about Ethafoam Blocks: I use ethafoam to cut custom cradles for my kayaks on the old style car rack I use and to pad under the seat of an old kayak I have. It also works well as bouyance inside the boat.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about Ethafoam Blocks: I've placed two large orders of this foam for use in equipment cases at work. While not perfect for every use, it lasts so much longer than the squishy black foam used in those name-brand cases. I use a combination of hot knife, serrated blade from an old kitchen electric knife, and jig saw to cut & shape it. Hole saws work, too, if you find one deep enough. I used regular contact cement to hold layers together - the gel version is much easier to work with than the original/standard runny version. Haven't tried H2 Glue.
