As my kids grow and get into tougher water, it's nice to have a better PFD than the cheapo models that are so abundant. Having better flotation for them is great, but for smaller kids, the foam is a bit thick and can restrict movement a bit. all in all, great vest.

My daughter was ecstatic to receive this as a birthday gift when she turned 8. The color selection was perfect and I think this lifejacket will be perfect for her to accomodate the next 4-5 years of rafting with our family. Thank you NRS for continuing to provide quality rafting products and creatively come up with new ones. We are long time loyal customers and will continue to be so.

Upgraded from a cheap-O PFD so my 8yr old can hit some more challenging water in his IK. Fits him well, easy to adjust, and the pockets are a plus.

We bought three of these for our kids ages 5, 6, & 8 years old. They have been perfect. The floatation is just right and the pockets are good for the kids little snacks. One of them is showing a slight tear by one of the side adjustment straps but in general they have shown no signs of wear. I only wish they had a couple more colors. After our son gets the blue one, we will have tapped out the color options.

I bought this PFD for my daughter who's 47" tall and weighs 50lbs. I was afraid it might be too big. I put it on her, adjusted the straps and it worked just as I wanted it too. We spent a couple of hours the first day she wore it playing in Lake Mohave and she had no complains. No problem with it riding up and no rashes or sore spots.

A:
Yes, it is a Type III PFD, USCG approved floatation device. Type III means
that it will not turn a person face up in the water if they are
unconscious. Type III PFD's are comfortable and mostly used by boaters
where you can expect swift rescue. They will not turn an unconscious
