NRS Clearwater Mesh Back PFD Q: How are pockets secured? Zippper or hook-and-loop or ? Asked on 3/19/2013 by m Know the answer? Answer this question 5 answers A: They are secured with velcro. Answered on 3/19/2013 by Bruce from Salem, Or A: I have Velcro Sent from my iPad Answered on 3/19/2013 by Anonymous A: Velcro is how the pockets are secured. Sent from my iPhone Have a great day!! Sandi :-)) Answered on 3/19/2013 by Sandi from East Greenbush, NY A: They are hook and loop (Velcro) Sent from my iPhone Answered on 3/19/2013 by Anonymous A: Velcro in the center of the pocket opening. Pull tab opening. I always wished it had Velcro on the corners but we've never lost anything (me, wife, son all have this vest - its the best I ever owned.) NRS Clearwater Mesh Back PFD Q: How do you attach a co-pilot knife to this jacket? Asked on 12/22/2012 by Charlotte Wood-Harrington from Chicago, IL Know the answer? Answer this question 5 answers A: The Clearwater doesn't have a lash tab for a knife. The only practical way to attach a Co-Pilot to it would be to use zip ties to fasten the sheath to one of the shoulder straps. However, both the NRS cVest and Chinook life jackets are built on the same platform and have lash tabs. Answered on 12/23/2012 by Clyde from NRS A: Not sure what a co-pilot is but there are d-rings inside the flap of the two front pockets. That's where I attach my rescue knife. I also run small loops of para cord through each of the small black tabs visible on the outside pocket flaps as other possible attachment points. Wayne Anchorage Answered on 12/22/2012 by Anonymous A: Charlotte, I carry a knife in one of the pockets. It fits well enough with the knife on an angle, from a lower outer corner to an upper inner corner. Barry Answered on 12/22/2012 by Anonymous A: Charlotte, I would use a coiled, corded lanyard (similar to a phone cord) attached to the tabs on the pocket and then store the knife in the pocket. Steve Answered on 12/23/2012 by brusks5 from Menomonee Falls, WI A: I am not sure with the co-pilot knife is but there is a nylon loop where the top strap attaches to the floatation pad. I have attached a carabiner to the loop and have attached misc. equipment to this ring when needed. Quoting NRS : Answered on 12/25/2012 by Irishvoyageur from La Crosse
NRS Clearwater Mesh Back PFD Q: how high is the back? how much mesh/how much pfd? Asked on 9/9/2012 by amy Know the answer? Answer this question 6 answers A: I have a high back seat and this pfd provides the same floatation as my previous pfd with much more comfort, I would recommend this to a friend. Stan Zimet 1305 Lena Lane Missoula, Montana 59804 Answered on 9/9/2012 by Stan from Missoula, Montana A: Hi Amy, I have 3 of these. One for my wife, son and me. I have mine adjusted so that it easily clears the back of my kayak seat as does the rest of the family. The pfd part of the back stops between the bottom of my shoulder blades and my ribs. Below that is the mesh panel, so 5/8's of it is pfd. I tried multiple pfd's, probably went through 5 or 6 before I tried this one. This is the best all around pfd I ever used in my 51 years. Good zipper front, easy on and off, pockets for your cut away knife, safety whistle and signal mirror and more. Dries fast and HIGHLY adjustable. Sizing is accurate. I don't work for NRS either! I'm just another recreational paddler. Get Wet! Mike Answered on 9/9/2012 by Long Floater from Central Arkansas A: the mesh is ~11" and the pfd ~10" Answered on 9/9/2012 by Dawn from Morro Bay, CA A: The back PFD portion is 9 1/4" in length. The mesh portion is just about 11" in length. The PFD portion starts at the top of my spine/lower neck. Hope this helps. Answered on 9/10/2012 by Sandi from East Greenbush, NY A: The back covers the shoulder blades and the mesh reaches just above the waist line. The PFD is very comfortable to wear and use and does not conflict with the seat back of the kayaks. Answered on 9/10/2012 by brusks5 from Menomonee Falls, WI A: It's about 50% of each. My husband wears it to kayak, and really likes it. He says the design allows for a lot of arm movement, and because of the mesh, it doesn't get as hot as most pfd's. I hope this helps!
