Thankfully, I had on this high-float jacket. It is a little hot for the Grand, but doesn't feel bulky other than being a breast-smasher. VS Most Liked Negative Review Big Float Good for intended use. Comments about NRS Big Water Guide PFD: Being a bit heftier than I was the last time a bought a pfd, I needed something with a bit more buoyancy. I was a bit apprehensive that it might be too bulky (like the standard pfd's commercial companies give to their customers), while it definitely is a bit thicker than the average vest, as it has to be, it is just as comfortable and allows the same freedom of movement. Speedy delivery from NRS too.

Comments about NRS Big Water Guide PFD: I ordered this to have a high float vest for a Grand trip we are taking in March. It fit much better than another high float vest that I bought so I returned the other and kept this one. My only complaint is since I'm on the lower end of the chest measurement, the straps are too long and there is no method designed into the vest to allow you to wrap/shorten the straps. You are not allowed to modify the vest and it will be noticed when it is inspected at the put-in. I'll have to figure out way to contain these straps so I won't be caught in a strainer or rocks on lower water rivers.
