Comments about Extrasport Infant & Youth PFDs with Collar: We're beginning paddlers and our toddler comes with us. Wanted common sense safety features to keep him ok in case we dump him so Type II, grab loop, head float, adj. crotch strap, and waist strap were mandatory features when I started looking for a pfd for him. The little tie at the top was nice too since little fingers like to play with zippers!!

Comments about Extrasport Infant & Youth PFDs with Collar: I purchased this pfd for my son when he was 2 for being on the water. We enjoy watersports and I wanted a jacket that we could use for multiple sports (Sailing, boating, float trips,). I also wanted a jacket that would float him high in the water to minimise the negative experience if he fell into the water unexpectedly. The jacket is comfortable and has held up well. But, it's ability to float him high in the water is fair at best. As a four year old he can manage the jacket much better (being able to swim is a plus for this jacket). The jacket floats the user at chin level in the water. Imagine a two to three year old falling unexpectedly into water and there reaction. Floating calmly in the water chin level might be fine. But flailing and panicking a small child is going to suck in a lot of water. Comparable commercial white water PFD's float the user higher in the water, then this jacket floats the child. I have not found a better jacket on the market, so we still use it. The purchaser should understand that a small child wearing this vest could fall in the water and if unattended could drown if they panicked (and what child wouldn't). It would be great if it had more flotation.

Comments about Extrasport Infant & Youth PFDs with Collar: We bought this for our 3 yr old daughter and really like it. She'd wear it all day playing on the beaches on the salmon last summer. Never complained about being uncomfortable or hot (even though it was about 100F). Fits her really well and I feel confident she'd be safe if she fell into the river.
