NRS 3.0 Farmer Jane Wetsuit
Q:
Would you recommend this for a triathlon that is about 70 degrees water temp? And the swim is .62 miles? I was recommended to buy this by two people from REI. I am beginning to think from the research they don't know what they are talking about.
I use mine for whitewater kayaking in water closer to 50 degrees. This suit allows for good movement but you could go thinner (2m instead of 3m). Overall...good recomendation. Sheila

My guess is this is too much wetsuit for your swim. I think the 2 mil little jane shorty would be better. Less restriction on the legs, and with 70 degree water while your swimming hard you don't need a lot of added warmth. Ken

NRS 3.0 Farmer Jane Wetsuit
Q:
Is this your best suggestion for a suit which would be used for swimming?
I would wear this swimming in cold rapids if I fell out of my kayak. I wear my 3mm "farmer jane" kayaking in the spring and fall. Anything thicker than 3mm is too much for swimming freely. Sheila

Hello! I bought this suit mainly for stand-up paddle boarding along with one of the long sleeve neoprene shirts. It's very comfortable and stretchy and very warm! This would probably be good for open ocean swimming where you need the extra warmth but not sure I would buy it for any kind of quick, triathlon swimming. Becky

The HydroSkin Jane is great for swimming in moderately cold water. The material is very stretchy and doesn't restrict mobility.
