My husband and I both wear these shorts. We wear them primarily for spring and fall kayak paddling when the water is still pretty cold. The thinner material makes them a great choice. Sometimes the Farmer Jane and Farmer John are too thick for the boats we want to paddle.

I wear these for ocean kayaking - 10 mile day trips up and down the coast. They are very comfortable, either alone on warm days or under splash pants on cool days. Good at preventing chaffing on your skin from sand and salt water.

Why are all the HydroSkin shorts and pants always Black?

I believe that the reason for wearing this particular piece of gear, is when the weather is too cool
for a pair of swimming trunks. The color ‘Black’ retains heat, making this a much better color choice
than a lighter color.
And, please don’t tell anyone... “I’m told”, the color Black in tight fitting clothes, also makes you look thinner.Answered on 10/4/2012 by Anonymous
