Kokatat Men's SuperNova Semi-Drysuit
$498.00 - $525.00
Ideal for recreational and touring paddlers, this suit has all of the features of Kokatat's full dry suits, but the traditional latex neck gasket has been replaced with a comfortable neoprene collar. Breathable Tropos fabric completes Kokatat's line by bridging the gap between "entry-level", non-breathable fabrics, and high-end Gore-Tex.
- The comfortable APT (Adjustable Punch-Through) super-stretch neoprene is ideal for people who experience problems or discomfort wearing a drysuit with a latex neck gasket.
- Quality Plastic TiZip master seal zipper gives you a water tight seal that keeps you safe and warm.
- Latex wrist gaskets and Tropos socks will ensure that water stays out of your suit from these entry points.
- Cordura® seat, knee and elbow patches provide protection in these common high-wear areas, and also come with self-draining holes.

Kokatat Men's SuperNova Semi-Drysuit Q: What does semi-drysuit mean? Does that mean it leaks if in water too long? Asked on 3/29/2013 by Jo Know the answer? Answer this question 5 answers A: Jo, In most paddling wear, and certainly in this one, semi-dry means that it uses one or more non-latex gaskets. The SuperNova has an adjustable neoprene neck. It's not as dry as a tight-fitting latex gasket, but more comfortable. And it keeps out water quite well. Answered on 3/30/2013 by Clyde from NRS A: I have two of these that I use for rafting. I also kayak, and would not use them for that activity unless I was boating easy water and was not planning on playing much. Yes, you will get water in through the neck closure if underwater too long. Keeps you pretty dry otherwise. Good for short swims, great for a rainy day on a raft. In exchange for a bit of water-tightness, you gain a lot more comfort. And by the way.. even though I have earned "Dry" suits in the past, I refer to them all as "Damp" suits. They all leak to some extent.-Scott Answered on 3/30/2013 by Wh8h2ORafter from Ft Collins, CO A: hi Jo-- Both my wife and I used this on a 26-day raft trip down the Grand Canyon last year, and a similar trip the year before. Water temps are in the 40's in the Colorado River. We flipped on both trips and ended up in the river. The suit was perfect! I highly recommend it. I was completely submerged, in violent rapids, then floated downstream and swam out to the bank. It kept me dry and did its job. I think it is semi-dry because they can't call it completely water proof like a deep sea diver's set up, but it definitely works to keep dry. The seals around the neck and wrists are very good, but that is probably the technical reason it is called semi dry. Not sure I answered your question, but feel free to contact me if you wanted to chat. Dale at***.****. Answered on 3/30/2013 by Anonymous A: I am not an expert on dry vs. semi-dry, but I believe that it has to do with the gasket around the wearer's neck. The SuperNova Semi-Drysuit has a neoprene neck gasket and is quite comfortable to wear for prolonged outings. A "drysuit" typically has a latex neck gasket which makes a better seal, but many people find them uncomfortable to wear. I am using my SuperNova on lakes and slow moving rivers and always wear a PFD, so if I happen to take an unintended swim, I don't plan to have my head and neck immersed long enough to take on much water. Answered on 3/30/2013 by Anonymous A: the difference is the neck gasket. the neck gasket on this suit is made of neoprene, rather than latex. the latex seals out water much better than neoprene does. The neoprene mainly protects from splashing, so your neck and shoulders will get somewhat wet if you go underwater. Answered on 3/31/2013 by Anonymous

Kokatat Men's SuperNova Semi-Drysuit Q: How much does it weigh? Asked on 9/7/2012 by GaryJazz Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: The Large weighs 2.4 pounds. Answered on 9/7/2012 by Clyde from NRS A: I don't know the exact weight but it is extremely light. We flipped in Lava Falls rafting down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon and it worked great and I was able to swim to shore. I would highly recommend this suit.
