No kayaking bootie provides as much protection, support and comfort with as little bulk as the NRS Shock Sock. Fits well in tight kayaks, gives solid footing on shore and works great as a SUP shoe too.
  • 3-mm Terraprene™ neoprene for outstanding insulation.

  • Stretchy rubber stabilizing bands provide lateral support without adding bulk.

  • A flexible reinforcing 2-mm shim in the sole and 7-mm neoprene insole protects your foot from rocks and adds torsional stability.

  • A padded divider separates the big toe from the other toes, giving you extra lateral stability for walking on uneven terrain and riding that SUP board in turbulent waters. Don't use the Shock with wetsocks and drysuit socks.

  • Grippy 3-mm rubber sole provides on-shore traction and added protection.

  • Our exclusive HydroCuff™ ankle closure seals out splash and debris.

  • 8" height extends past wetsuit and drysuit cuffs for easy integration.
Whole sizes only.
Women order one size smaller.

Comments about NRS Shock Sock Wetshoe:

Never realized how much the split toe helps with balance, it really does. Sole is thick enough to walk comfortably but still ultra flexible. I wear a size US9.5 so I bought a 9 and 10, kept the size 10 because it was more comfortable. Only drawback is that you can't wear wool socks for extra warmth. Feet get cold after an hour or so when below 50 degrees.

Comments about NRS Shock Sock Wetshoe:

I purchased these for kayaking, In NV the lake and river sand was very abraceive on my feet. These shoes prevent the sand from geting into the shoe and causing a lot of foot pain. So for me they are perfect. Also they are great for kayaking, very flexable for use with the rudder peddles.

Comments about NRS Shock Sock Wetshoe:

Great bootie. I'm a size 9.5 shoe, sizes only come in full so I ordered a half size down to compromise for my narrow feet. They fit real snug and the toe box is really nice with the separation between the big toe and the rest of the toes. Great out on the river but kind of a pain to dry out if you don't have a boot dryer. Tried using a fan but it just doesn't cut it. Overall great though

      Q:

I'm looking for a new paddling shoe, and this shoe and the NRS Freestyle Wetshoe look a lot a like. Is there any major difference between the 2 of them?

I bought this shoe and compared it to the NRS
        Attack Shoe.
I liked the attack shoe better. Although more cash,
It's sole was more rugged, has easier entry
And has small clasps with straps to ensure snug fit.

The NRS Shock Sock Wetshoe is a very efficient shoe which has worked very effectively in both river and surf conditions, I highly recommend it.

hello...the Freestyle looks to be a "newer" model...looks nice! I love the
Shock Sock... lets me wade in a bit deeper when coming back in from the
lake! The shock sock might give you a bit more ankle coverage...they feel
        great!

        A:

They have quite different features. The Freestyle has a thin 1.5 mm sole and 3 mm neoprene insole. This very flexible sole is great for boaters with cramped cockpit space for their feet, while still having some protection from rough terrain. The Shock Sock has a much sturdier sole: 7 mm neoprene insole, 2 mm plastic shim and 3 mm outsole. Also, the Shock Sock has a padded toe divider (between the big toe and the "index" toe?) which provides extra lateral stability, but would prevent you wearing a sock inside. It was conceived as a SUP boarder shoe, but of course can work for other types of boating. Both great shoes.

I really like it for my long skinny feet. The material isn't overly thick,
but I think it would work for your conditions. A little water will get in,
but I have stayed relatively warm. Haven't used it a lot yet because of
        our warm summer here.

I would say no, very comfortable but not insulated, been wearing for mostly spring summer fall paddles but have not tried yet in winter, give me like 3 more months and I'll let you know.
