Comments about NRS Felt Sole Kicker Wetshoe:

I've worn out 2 pairs of these after heavy use during the 18 or so years I've been whitewater paddling. The traction is unsurpassed on the round, slick rocks in my favorite rivers. Other footwear works well other places but when its smooth, wet and slippery, these are the best. I ordered a 1/2 size up from my normal for wear over dry suit with booties, heavy socks. I wish I would have stuck with my normal size.

Comments about NRS Felt Sole Kicker Wetshoe:

Overall, this is a great wetshoe, particularly if you want a shoe that is pretty good at doing double duty. I bought the shoe, a pair for me and one for my son, to use as my basic footwear for a river trip with hopes of using the shoe to replace my Simms wading sandals. Based on a four day river trip and multiple fly fishing outings, the shoe really shines as a general water shoe, especially boating in class 3 or 4 water around big rock. It is an OK wading shoe. The traction provided by the felt bottom is excellent and with the adjustable straps, the likelihood of picking up pebbles or rocks is low. The only rub on the shoe as a wading shoe is the fact that it does not provide much side to side stability which makes wading much tougher.

      Q:

How much does the size 11 pair weigh?

        A:

They're actually pretty light until you get them wet. Then they get heavy.
The felt soles retain a lot of water and the body of the shoe is neoprene.

All I can say is I wear these all day on the river and never concerned about weight. These don't "hold" water to make them feel heavy at all.

I wear a womens size 6 1/2. What size should I get. Thanks.

        A:

If you're wearing it over bare feet, the size 6 should work. If you will wear it with a wetsock or drysuit sock, you'll want to size up to a 7.
