I use them as a protective sock over my drysuit booties and found that they worked better than my previous system, which involved two socks, one on the outside of the bootie and one on the inside. With the expedition socks my booties fit right over them and they keep my feet really warm. I've only tried them out this one time, but I think this is going to be a bomber setup. Water ...Read complete review Cold feet on a Grand Canyon rafting trip are no fun. Neoprene booties are great for warmth but not good for hiking and scouting and are not designed to keep any water out. Water shoes are good for hiking but add little warmth and can cause blisters if not worn with a sock. This new sock that is supposed to keep water out if not submerged sounded like a great solution. Comments about NRS Expedition Sock with HydroCuff: My daughter (12) used this product on our Spring whitewater Kayaking runs. She had complained of cold feet on our January trip.. So we tried these and she was real happy to have warm feet.

Best Uses Comments about NRS Expedition Sock with HydroCuff: I used the wet socks in 43 degree water and my feet stayed the warmest, over a period of three hours. The protection was awesome and a difinite GOOD investment.

Best Uses Comments about NRS Expedition Sock with HydroCuff: We purchased these for our winter runs down the Penns Creek and they do not disappoint. A bit bulky but even after tearing a small hole(they will tear easily) they still continued to work. This is a sock not a shoe you still need something over your foot. Overall they work as advertised.

Comments about NRS Expedition Sock with HydroCuff: I recently purchased these socks and am happy with them. I do however plan on ordering the SS Waterproof socks. After a long day on the water (in a raft and with a swim) my feet were colder than I'd like. I paired them with a wool sock and they fit comfortably. Easy to move around in. For an upcoming trip I think I'll have a wool sock, waterproof sock, and these socks for an excellent trio.

Cons Best Uses Comments about NRS Expedition Sock with HydroCuff: My old neoprene socks wore out, so I went searching for a new pair. Luckily, I found the NRS Expedition Sockwith Hydrocuff. I use them inside my trail shoes for pack rafting the rivers on the Seward Peninsula. They work equally well for the hiking or biking sections of my trips. I am able to step in streams for short spells and stay dry, thanks to the hydrocuff. When I do need to be in the water longer, they provide warmth all day long. Pretty amazing for a guy who has trouble with extremity circulation. I do use a pair of thin liner socks to add a little more comfort, but that is not necessary. When I get to camp, I take the Expedition Socks off to dry, and use gore-tex socks, with wool socks and liners. The Expedition Sock dries so much faster than the traditional, "old-school" neoprene I had been using. As long as I use a dry pair of liners the next day, I always feel like I am starting out with dry feet. This piece of equipment can be a great addition to your expedition footware.
