NRS HydroSkin Wetsocks Q: Hi does anyone know of a sock for size 15 foot? Asked on 3/27/2013 by large joseph Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Joseph, perhaps shops in the dive market might have socks that size. We do have a couple of wetshoes in size 15, the Comm-3, Item # 2310 and Cross-4, Item # 2313. NRS HydroSkin Wetsocks Q: Should you wear socks underneath the Wetsocks? I wear a women's size 6 shoe and not sure if I should get a XS or S. What do you suggest? Thanks. Asked on 3/12/2013 by Katie from Denver, CO Know the answer? Answer this question 7 answers A: I have these wetsocks and I always wear a pair of very thin Smartwool base layer socks, as insurance. That protects from chafing from any fine sand that might work its way down into the sock, if overtopped. I did not alter the recommended sizing for this since the baselayer wool socks are very thin. I have had chafing with neoprene boots before and since I went to wearing the baselayer wool socks, no more issues, even with 1 week of portaging the Boundary Waters all day in wet boots. Answered on 3/12/2013 by Anonymous A: There is no real reason to wear socks under your wetsocks. If you did there is a higher risk of your feet getting cold and staying cold. Stay thirsty, my friends Dan Answered on 3/13/2013 by Handy Dandy from Coeur d'Alene, ID A: Katie, the HydroSkin Socks are about the thickness of a thick dress sock, so normally folks find they fit in their regular size shoes. You can wear a thin fabric sock inside them but unless you're doing a lot of walking where a two-layer sock system might be useful to fight abrasion, it's probably not necessary. Answered on 3/13/2013 by Clyde from NRS A: Wearing normal socks under wet socks will result in wet socks if you have water go over the top of them... easy to do. I wear my river sandals over the wet socks and they are really comfy. Sent from my iPhone Answered on 3/12/2013 by Anonymous A: Do not wear socks underneath. Rikki Answered on 3/12/2013 by Anonymous A: you do not wear socks underneath these. sorry, i take a size 10, i'm not sure what size you need Answered on 3/12/2013 by Anonymous A: If you wear socks, you should wear a poly, spandex blend and Not any cotton or wool. Depending on your level of activity and water contact, the insides of the socks will be damp when you take them off. They are like a wetsuit for your feet. The only reason to wear a sock is to keep the insides cleaner if you are wearing the Wetsocks for several days without the opportunity to launder or for cushioning your feet. I like a cycling or running sock when I wear socks like Swiftwick ( no offense NRS ). Size is a preference depending on how you like socks to feel on your feet - tight or loose so you can wiggle your toes. I think you should be thinking about small or medium. These are good socks and a good insulator. I've had a pair I wear when its cold with sandals for 4 years. I do wear them with socks but they breathe a lot better with sandals than they would inside a shoe or boot. Answered on 3/13/2013 by Anonymous
NRS HydroSkin Wetsocks Q: I am looking for a neoprene sock to wear inside my hiking boots. (The neoprene sock is intended to be the liner of a two sock system.) I will be backpacking the Paria River Canyon for 4 days and needs a liner to help keep my feet warm and protect against blisters from the sand in the silty water. I am a little concerned about the seams on the edges if the socks. Has anyone worn these socks in hiking boots? Are they comfortable? Asked on 3/3/2013 by bootjockey from NY, NY Know the answer? Answer this question 9 answers A: i haven't worn them in hiking boots but I would be surprised if that would work with these, primarily because I don¹t' think the sock is shaped snugly enough to fit inside a tight boot without wrinkling, and that wrinkling might cause blisters. Answered on 3/3/2013 by Anonymous A: I have used this sock in maybe a slightly different environment. I have worn it on a through-hike of the Zion Narrows, wearing these socks, with no liner, in 5.10 Canyoneering boots. That was a two-day, 16 mile trek, with 60% of the time slogging in the Virgin River carrying a full pack. I have also worn them in a different style of 5.10 boot, navigating several technical Class III slot canyons where very cold water was one of the elements I had to deal with. I did not experience any undue wear and tear on my feet wearing these socks…either on the approach trails or in the canyons themselves. Answered on 3/3/2013 by Anonymous A: Two photos: 1) Wearing neoprene socks, waterproof low hiking boots and gaiters at the top of Mt. Whitney 2011. I really hate boots that bind around my ankles. The gaiters and neoprene kept the cold and wet out. 2) My son peeling off his neoprene socks at the confluence of Havasu Creek and the Colorado River (he put them back on to hike back). Yes, we wore sandals for that trek. Answered on 3/3/2013 by Anonymous A: I would not use these for that situation. The seams really would be painful for hiking in. I would suggest some tall gortex boots and wool socks. Sent from my iPhone Answered on 3/3/2013 by Anonymous A: I have done hiking in them and don't remember the seam calling attention to itself in any way. If you had asked me, I would have said "What seam?". Answered on 3/4/2013 by Anonymous A: I wore the neoprene sock with a thin sock on first, then the neoprene sock. I wore them in the Narrows in Zion all day. It was very comfortable. Answered on 3/4/2013 by Anonymous A: I have not worn these in hiking boots. I have worn these in my water shoes in freezing weather on a rainy camping trip and even though my feet were soaked they stayed warm as could be. Answered on 3/5/2013 by Anonymous A: I have hiked the Paria canyon, Didn't think the water was cold enough for neoprene socks, but I guess they would work fine. Biggest problem is getting sand in your shoes. I use them for bike riding in cold wet conditions. Answered on 3/6/2013 by Anonymous A: I wore these socks on a 1 week Boundary Waters trip with no issues, but I did wear a thin SmartWool baselayer sock on the inside. The boot was a Chota Portage boot from Piragis Northwoods. Answered on 3/11/2013 by Anonymous
NRS HydroSkin Wetsocks Q: Hello, I wear men's size 12 for most shoes / boots with a relatively slender foot. Would you recommend the XL or the XXL? Is the NRS HydroSkin Wetsock the best choice to put inside a water boot? Asked on 1/28/2013 by Lemhi from Kansas City Know the answer? Answer this question 5 answers A: I would probably get the XXL. I wear these socks between the booty of my drysuit and my river shoes. The socks are low profile, but make sure you size your shoes accordingly. Answered on 1/28/2013 by Anonymous A: I wear size 10 1/2 -11 shoes, have a narrow foot, and the XL fits me without a lot of extra room. I think you'll want the XXL. The HydroSkin sock is about the thickness of a heavy-weight dress sock, so usually folks can fit them in their watershoes. Answered on 1/29/2013 by Clyde from NRS A: Kinda depends on what your wanting to do with them. If your wanting a fairly tight summer/spring sytem then the XL Or even L might work for you. I have the XXL and use them with thick socks in the winter. Im considering the XL's for a snugger fit around the calf. I wear a size 13 regular. Hope this helps. Answered on 1/28/2013 by Anonymous A: I wear a men's 10.5 street shoe, and in cold weather layer the XXL HydroSkin sock over my drysuit's latex socks (with wool socks on the inside). It all fits comfortably in the NRS Sasquatch size 12 booties. Happy shopping! Answered on 1/28/2013 by Anonymous A: I cannot say about the size u are looking for but I ordered a large I think and it could have been a bit smaller. I wear a 10 1/2 boot in Merrell's. It shouldn't like u might try the Xl first. Sent from my iPhone Answered on 1/28/2013 by Anonymous

NRS HydroSkin Wetsocks Q: I am going on a 4-day rafting trip and we are very limited on packing space. Can I get by with one pair of these socks? Do I need to wash them out every night? If so, will they be dry in the morning? Thanks Asked on 8/29/2012 by rafter Know the answer? Answer this question 5 answers A: These socks are very durable. Rinse them out when you get off the water. Since neoprene doesn't "breathe", turn them inside out to dry. Whether they'll dry overnight depends on the weather conditions. Have fun! Answered on 8/29/2012 by Clyde from NRS A: one pair is enough, if they fill with sand, can rinse out, other wise washing probably not neccesary. Squeeze out excess moisture once in camp and changed into dry clothes. may still be damp in the morning, so what, oh well. The river is wet. You'll be warm. Answered on 8/29/2012 by Anonymous A: Hello, I have used those socks on many 2-3 day river trips. In fact, I use them exclusively anytime I paddle. You should have no problem using just one pair on your trip. 2 pairs can make life a little easier, although I don't believe that little bit of extra benifit justifies carrying the extra wieght/space consumption. You certainly don't have to wash them with soap until you get home, but, depending on your body chemistry, they may get a odor to them by day 4. At least rinse them with clear water 1X/day. They dry very quickly if there is low humidity, and high wind. Dry time will increase with high humidity and dead air. Here in Michigan, there is always dew, fog, or other moisture in the night hours in the river valleys.. I can still usually get socks dry by morning. Turning them inside out and drying the inside first is how I do it. I dont mind if they smell like campfire, so I place them by the fire sometimes (not too close). I have yet to find a sock this warm that dries as fast. Hope you have a great trip and that this info helps you. Jacob Holmes Answered on 8/29/2012 by Anonymous A: One pair of socks is all you will need. Just rinse out at night and they will be dry by the morning. They are extremely durable and comfortable. Enjoy your trip! Answered on 8/29/2012 by Anonymous A: yes they will work and be dry by morning not that their that bad wet. Answered on 8/30/2012 by Anonymous
NRS HydroSkin Wetsocks Q: I wear a women's 8 1/2. From the sizing it looks like I'm between a medium and a large. Which would you recommend? Asked on 8/27/2012 by Rebs Know the answer? Answer this question 3 answers A: I would recommend a size Medium. Answered on 8/28/2012 by Pam from NRS A: Hi, I just verified. I bought a medium and there is extra room. I am 8 1/2 too. hope this help. Le 2012-08-27 à 21:46, NRS a écrit : Answered on 8/28/2012 by Anonymous A: My shoe size is 9 1/2 – 10 and I have size Large wetsocks. They fit my feet perfectly, just like a regular sock, no extra toe room, but not binding either. Answered on 8/30/2012 by Anonymous
