These kept the cold, spring water of the upper Missouri River at bay which allowed us to enjoy our late April kayaking on the Missouri even more. Great product although they're about 1/2 size too large. Good construction with ease in getting them on and off!!

        Comments about SealSkinz Waterproof Gloves:

Our wet/cold winters up here in the Pacific Northwest leaves the hands of fishermen and clammers numb in minutes. Gloves that can keep your hands dry & warm are essential for those of us that are serious about our sport. I have used just about every "water proof" glove on the market but my Seal Skinz are truly water proof as well as the most light-weight and flexible I've owned. The only drawback is the thin material allows some cold to creep through.

        Comments about SealSkinz Waterproof Gloves:

I have purchased numerous pairs of gloves for winter kayaking. From the product description and other reviews I thought these would be great. They initially did keep my hands dry. They are flexible and the grip is awesome. I was careful to get a good seal on the wrists on top of the latex cuffs on my dry suit. About 2 hours into our paddle I noticed my hands getting cold, took the gloves off for inspection and discovered that on the inside every finger was soaked. I will continue to use them while the search continues.

          Comments about SealSkinz Waterproof Gloves:

These gloves are great - they fit snugly, keep my hands warm in the cold wind but don't constrict dexterity so I can still get into my pockets and distinguish between car keys and cell phone. Perfect for sitting at the helm in winter months, not afraid to get them dirty or wet. We'll see how long they hold up for!

            Q:

bit of a strange one but i would like to buy my husband some descent gloves but they are for milking cows he usually wears disposable ones but they often get sucked up the units so i was wondering if these gloves would withstand the usage of every day and are they easy to clean lets just say if they get poo'ed on :)

Ah, Lee, you've made my day! Although I've not heard of a dairyman putting them to this use, these gloves just might work for your husband. If you do try them, please don't "wring them out" when drying them. This can tear the waterproof-breathable membrane. Please go on our Dealer Locator site - http://www.nrsweb.com/services/dealerlocator.asp - and click on United Kingdom in the Country box to find a dealer who carries the SealSkinz. Best of luck to you.

They would probably work for that , and yes I think you could soak them in a sink to clean them. In order to dry them, you have to flip them inside out, or they stay wet on the inside. But they would probably dry overnight. Only modest insulation, but they will keep you dry unless you totally submerge your hand for an extended time. They breathe but over long periods of time, perspiration will build up inside. As for everyday usage, I had my first pair for 3 years and they held up to moderate weekend use pretty well. I’m not sure how they would hold up with daily use for several hours a day over a long period. For the price, try them and find out. Definitely better than disposable gloves.
              Hope this helps.

This is a most hilarious question! I love it. We are river rafters and I bought 4 pair of these gloves, one for myself, and my sons and husband. In my opinion these would be an excellent choice because they are not only warm (my problem with hands), but have grips on the outside that are soft. I don't know much about milking cows, but I am looking at these gloves now and I would say go for it. After wearing these gloves for days in mud, wind, rain and rowing rafts - I threw them in the washer several times after our trips. They are quick drying - (I have never put them in the dryer) and on river trips I simply sat them in the sun or put them in a sleeping bag to dry by body heat)
You could set them near a fire or a heater and they dry fast. They are definitely washable and durable. I would recommend for this use.
              Hope this helps!

They would probably last a year or more in this kind of usage. I loaned a
pair to my son while he spent 6 weeks in Florida swamps during Army Ranger
training. They kept his hands warm and I got them back with some inner layer
kinda krinkly, but intact as a glove. The fiber seems tough. Like any work
glove they will wear out after awhile. They ought to wash pretty well.

I don't think this is what you would want for milking. Can't really clean them easily, and I just don't think they would hold up. Good Luck!

Hi, I like my SealSkinz waterproof gloves very much for fishing. Not sure
whether or not they would work well for milking. The gloves are a little
bit thick - similar to cool-weather knitted wool gloves made from
fine-to-medium yarn. I don't know if that would be a problem or not. As you
can see in the photos, the palm and fingers are covered with little grippy
dots - rubber or something similar. The dots do not stick out very much, so
maybe they would be fine. I am guessing that keeping them cleaning might be
the biggest issue. The outer covering (not the waterproof membrane) is a
porous, knitted material, as I mentioned above. I suspect laundering them
might be the only way to completely remove the inevitable cow poop.
You might consider the thinnest NRS neoprene gloves. They would be about
the same thickness and might be easier to clean.
Good luck with your search. If you find the perfect milking gloves, you
should think about partnering with the maker to market them to dairy farms.
It would be a great service.

Hello, These are great gloves (I am extremely happy with them for kayaking), but i would not recommend for the use below. The outer layer is a kid of knitted fabric which would be very hard to clean cow poo from (in my opinion). All the best, Phil.(Australia)

As long as you go by the sizing chart, our gloves can be worn by either men or women. We do have one glove, the Women's HydroSkin, that is in women's specific sizing.

I think they are pretty much unisex. I use them at temps between 35 F and 50 F for kayaking. I gave a pair to my son to wear during US Army Ranger School's Florida swamp phase in January and he said they were a lifesaver. They should be fine for any boating. Neoprene is better below 35-40 degrees.

This is a man's glove. I use it to keep my hands warm and blister free
when I go whitewater kayaking in Oregon/Washington rivers. I love these
