The grip is awesome and the fingers fit great without any pinching at the ends. The seams started to blow out after just a couple of months of weekend use tho. Great gloves if they'd last a bit longer than 2 months. Reviewed by 19 customers Sort by Displaying reviews 1-5 Previous | Next » Pros

Comments about NRS Rapid Gloves: These kept my fingers from getting blisters and were great for grip on the paddle. I often ended up wearing them for sun protection in the Grand Canyon on the Colorado River. Cons - they were not waterproof and I often had to take them off to dry off my fingers and hands -- since the weather in the canyon is very hard on your hands, having them stay wet did not help.

Comments about NRS Rapid Gloves: This is my second pair. The first pair lasted 3 years and I wore holes in them. I use these gloves for long distance kayak training and racing. If I'm going shorter distances (say, less than 2 or 3 miles), I use different gloves. The Rapid gloves do a good job in preventing blisters. The grip is also good. My only complaint is that one location is not well enough protected. These gloves could do a better job protecting the inside of my thumbs up close to the primary joint at the hand. This location gets a lot of wear during kayak paddling and NRS should run the heavy material (that is mostly reserved for the palms) all they way around the thumb (but not at the outer thumb knuckle to allow flexing). I apply athletic tape at this location on my thumb before putting on the gloves. The first pair I bought were size M and they were somewhat tight, but it was comfortable enough because they flex well. When I purchased the second, I used the size chart, measured my hands and bought size L. They feel a tad big, but this may be because I'm used to the M's. The first time I wore the L's, I won a 20 mile race. Overall the gloves are quite good.

Comments about NRS Rapid Gloves: Sizes run big, had to return the small for XXS. Fits good, feels very comfortable. Wore the gloves in February air temp in the 50s and water in 30s. My hands stayed warm and dry.

Comments about NRS Rapid Gloves: I have been using this glove for 15 years as a C-Boater on whitewater runs on the East and West Coasts. It serves me well for abrasion protection and for warmth. I get a slightly oversize glove so that I can fit in a liner on very cold days. Works fine. The grip to the paddle is very good (no slippage)and I have good dexterity and feel for the paddle. One complaint - I need to replace the gloves every season, but the price is reasonable so no real problem there. It does the trick because I keep coming back to this glove year after year.
