Comments about NRS Classic Rescue Gloves:

Although we usually get what we pay for, this item seems about ten bucks too high. But it's really good stuff.

      • NRS Classic Rescue Glove

        Q:

I'm looking at this glove to take with me to the Boundary Waters in Minnesota in early October. From the product description, I can't tell if the entire glove is neoprene, with synthetic leather patches on top of it--or if the palm/finger area consists of synthetic leather only. If it is the latter, would you still recommend it for a camping/paddling trip where it may not have a great opportunity to dry, or would you go for a full-neoprene glove? Please clarify ASAP-as I'm in a bit of a rush. Thanks!

I use them for canyoneering. Lots of rope work in very cold water. Full palm is leather ish With a Kevlar ish protection over the leather palm. . The top of hand is neo only. They keep me pretty warm. Rope won't wear through protection on the palms.

From what I can remember the glove is all neoprene with the leather over top. Fairly warm glove. Not sure what kind of paddling you are doing, but if you are kayaking, I would highly recommend pogies over any type of gloves..

          Hello,
I really like these gloves for spring and fall river paddling in
Minnesota. They are not super warm so I suggest warmer gloves for paddling
in temperatures below freezing. They fit nicely and are very flexible.
They are neoprene all over topped by a thin, web-patterned, rubbery
material for grip covering the palm and finger area. They should be fine
for paddling in the Boundary Waters in early Oct.
          Have a great trip!
