I needed gloves that would keep my hands warm in the wind and rain, yet be flexible and lightweight enough to easily handle lines and controls. I also am a petite woman and most gloves are too large in the palm or have finger lengths that are way too long. The XS in these fit my palm quite nicely (I started with the S based on the sizing instructions) and the fingers are only a shade too long. I am able to use them in the above conditions, and they keep my hands fairly warm. An improvement would be to reverse the position of the Velcro wrist straps. The "tooth" part of the Velcro is largely exposed and snags many fabrics. These seemed to fit the bill except the wrist band was uncomfortably high and tight. The fit was uncomfortable enough that I wore a different pair of gloves instead of these on the North Slope river trip I just came finished. Comments about NRS Paddler's Gloves: Good fit but man are these gloves slippery! I can hardly keep hold of my paddle. Wouldn't recommend them

Comments about NRS Paddler's Gloves: NRS paddlers gloves fit great without being restrictive and provide a "feel" for the paddle and dexterity I have not had with other whitewater gloves. However, try a pair on if you can before purchase to ensure ideal fit. Dry quickly after use, keep hands reasonably warm and enhance paddle grip without long term fatigue found in "pre curved" grip gloves. Not paddled them enough times to speak to wear longevity. Paddlers should buy two pair to have a dry backup at all times, these gloves are THAT good...safe paddling! :) Service and delivery comments: Prompt arrival and correct size

Cons Best Uses Comments about NRS Paddler's Gloves: I use the gloves for cold weather canoeing 30-40 F. I see no purpose in the Velcro strap other than to take longer to get the gloves on and off. The gloves fit well enough without a strap. The grip was not as good as I would have liked.

Comments about NRS Paddler's Gloves: I use the gloves to paddle March through early December, and they have proved to fit the paddle well and provide good warmth.
