Wore these gloves on a paddle where the water was 40F and the air about 45F. I wasn't doing any rolling so my wrists didn't spend much time underwater but the few times I did dunk my arm in I only felt a hint of water a the cuff. I was surprised, really, that the cuff worked as well as it did. However I did have them pulled over my drysuit wrist gaskets and I imagine latex seals better than a hairy arm :-) The air was pretty warm so I can't comment on how the warm the gloves were.. I was very comfortable though. When the outer fabric gets wet it stays wet so I imagine that in colder weather the evaporative cooling would kick in.
The palms were grippy enough but I'd prefer a bit more. However I still felt like I had some "touch" with the paddle, but obviously not as much with bare hands.
Overall I was impressed with my first outing with these gloves.

Got the gloves as a present, and was very excited to use them. The first time i used these gloves, the air temp was 31 F,and the water was snow melt. The first 30 mins my hands were very warm and dry, hour hands started to get damp but still very warm, 2 hours in and my hands were frezzing cold and wet. Very disapointing, i called nrs very helpful sent them back and got the nrs mits.

Bought for cold weather boating in Alaska. Initially impressed - but, after about 20 minutes in the rain - before we got on the river - both gloves were completely soaked inside - I poured water out of them. This could be a QA issue - many other reviewers have touted the waterproof capability of the glove. They do continue to help keep you warm even when wet - but once wet inside - like most rubber gloves - they are a real pain to take off or put on.

I put the gloves on and I found that the gloves were so slippery that I removed them and wore an old pair that i have worn out. i bought these instead of the worn out in hopes they would last. I am i search of a pair of gloves that will last, warm, dry and with grip. Suggestions

I guess I never ran into this problem with my gloves since my hands stay
pretty dry. Maybe you might look for a very thin set of synthetic
gloves (gardener's gloves?) that would fit inside your Rogue Gloves and
absorb the moisture. BTW ... watch out for the cuffs when taking off the

A:
I had used regular neoprene gloves in the winter for years, and often my
only cold weather complaint was cold hands. I tried the NRS Rogue gloves to
see if waterproof gloves would improve my winter paddling comfort. The
answer is they do. They (mostly) keep the water out and (mostly) keep my
hands dry, and are a big improvement for me over the conventional neoprene
gloves with respect to keeping my hands warm. The neoprene waffle overlay
on the palms do help with kayak paddle grip, too. Bulkiness and tactile
transparency are not effectively different from conventional neoprene
gloves. Because the waterproof feature depends on a gasket seal around your
wrist, durability is a concern, but after one whole season I have not seen

I have the Rogue and the SealSkinz. When I was looking into gloves, it sounded like the Maverick gloves are stiffer and better for very cold conditions. Just depends on how cold the conditions are. I do like the Rogue gloves, and you could use a light glove liner with them for more options.
