Q:
How loose are these things supposed to fit? I'm 5'8"...160 lbs...40" chest...29" waist. According to the sizing chart I should wear a Large, but I just ordered a Large Powerhouse Jacket and it is HUGE. My fingertips don't even extend to the cuff openings when I stretch my arms out to sides. Thanks.

  The jackets are cut for layering underneath. You're near the bottom end of the Large sizing range, and near the top end of the Medium. Sounds like the Medium would be a better fit for you.
